Qrow Branwen, and Willow Schnee, before Beacon Fell, before Team RWBY came to Vale, before Amber the Maiden was ever found...there was a tower in Atlas that served to be Willow's prison, and a cage, and the ranger of a hunter and old friend who only wanted her to be free....This is the part IV of a UA series I did based off the theory that Qrow was romantically involved with Willow Schnee back before she was forced into matrimony with Jacques. This primarily goes off of how Qrow speaks highly of the Schnee's accomplishments when Nick ,(Her father) was in charge, but then has disdain and bitterness when going into Jacques' take over of the company as if he stole something, and right around when describing how he was in an arranged marriage with Willow.
There's also the way he speaks of Weiss as the hope for the Schnee DC at the end of the World of Remnant video.

In the comic he says that Winter will leave hr some day, implying that she's not only born but old enough to consider leaving home. So Weiss is his. Whitley would be Jacques, explaining why he favors him over Weiss.

Even in the Manga he disregards her, inspite of everything she does right, and she has no idea where the resentment stems from.

Yeah but just because that happens doesn't mean Weiss is Qrow's daughter. Hell any parent can do that if they chose to. That's not a exact science. And on the show it explains subtly that he resents her because she's following Winters foot steps at being a rebellious child to his way of parenting

This has turned into a beautiful and touching story of a passing romance. Qrow is one awesome dude when he gets the chance.

While what he's doing is arguably very wrong, yes.

Love writes its own rules, thereby providing much fodder for creative souls. In a way your story is also redolent of the courtly love of an older time, since Jacques has no love in his heart for the beautiful daughter of a hero he wed for her name and fortune. If Willow Schnee was a happy wife she would not wander, and Qrow would go elsewhere.

Qrow having history with Lady Schnee before Jacques took her is actually an interesting idea. If this is the case in canon (and thereby sinking QrowXWinter), I'm really expecting Weiss to turn around and call Qrow out on either letting it happen (to which will give the lame excuse of either focusing on protecting the Maidens from those who follow Salem or his bad luck Semblance would have inevitably gotten Willow hurt or god forbid killed by Salem's people just to hurt him) or for not telling her, Ruby, Yang, or Winter by now (since that was part of Yang's deal that Qrow and Ozpin no longer hide behind any secrets or lies to them).
Either way, imagine the tension that would bring if it comes up in Volume 6 that your theory of QrowXWillow used to be a ship is canon.

In the world of remnant video 'the schnee dust company' narrated by Qrow. He talks about the company having a brighter future in the next generation. Meaning Weiss.

Also there's resentment in his voice when talking about Jacques, particularly when talking of marrying Nick's daughter, and ruining the company for being darker though richer.
But sounds optimistic and fond of Weiss.
