Description For those who are caught up, this based on the theory of what has happened to Amber and Pyrrha's Soul post death, given that both were given the maiden power (or in Pyrrha's case, 1/4 of it) before their deaths.

Think about it, Pyrrha's the only person to have died the way she did.  Amber was shot, and just died, she didn't dissipate,  Pyrrha is the only recorded death on the show where we've seen her light up with the same colour of energy/aura as the maiden power she was radiated with and the only one subjected to mad science to be infused with said power, with unpredictable results...

We know that her voice is in Ruby's dreams, but also cut away from Cinder when we've heard her voice, and now Cinder is acting as if she's horrified at the brutality of her own team mates...

We know that Ozpin's soul has merged or shared space with Oscar....so if we believe what he and Qrow said about the new host becoming, or becoming more like the previous maiden..........

.........Well, do you believe in destiny?

HERE IS PART TWO

I support this. It ties in well to how Pyrrha can still come "back" without the ham-fistedness a full-flesh "resurrection" would require.

To be fair, I can see a few ways they can ultimately revive her in full.  mentally broken, but in full, now needing the support of her team more than ever.  Even a bad tool of resurrection such as Orihime from Bleach can be used to tell a good resurrection story.  Just change the character perspective to someone who needs her help, but DOESN'T have easy access to her.  This is how they explained how Harribel came back: one of her fraccion literally crawled her broken body into the Soul Reaper camp after the Fake karakura battle to beg Orihime for help.  Notable in that it was the one who was the most prideful, Appaci, who was the focus.  She was heavily injured, surrounded by her enemies, and Orihime could have still said no, but she still thought it was worth the risk to try.

Pyrrha was never actually given the maidens power which makes this some what an impossibility. It was being put into her body but when Amber died it back tracked out of her into Amber's body shot through into Cinder.
If anything is having an effect on Cinder it would be Amber's soul and her emotions. Cinder does yes seem to be horrified by her comrade but that could simply be because of that fact that she was seriously hurt that she now knows she isn't as strong as she thought. Cinder is becoming more human with the more that she see's. Tyrian is insane and will do anything to please his goddess this would disturb anyone.
Pyrrha's death resembles Achilles that was kind of their point. Pyrrha was incinerated from the inside out and her remains blew into the wind. She wasn't absorbed or anything.

Oh dear freaking god not the Achilles crap again.  Might as well just call her "Achilles Story Stand-In" instead of Pyrrha.  Also, if there's really nothing going on in Cinder's head, the thought of having a redemption for her is utterly laughable.  All that damage, no remorse for any of it, and she gets unnerved at Tyrian's little meltdown?  The only thing Cinder deserves is two bullets in the head and to be left to ROT.  THIS IS NOT A REDEEMABLE VILLAIN.  The woman jumped right over the Moral Event Horizon LONG AGO, and you're honestly thinking that the killer of their friend will get redeemed?  I'd outright accuse Rooster Teeth's writers of Cinder being their Creator's Pet at that point.

In short, I do see merit in the "Pyrrha in Cinder" idea, simply because of all the supernatural fun that was going on in that moment.  Who the hell knows what was really going on there.  In addition, the dreams Ruby is having with Pyrrha's voice in them....both times the dialogue itself is something that, when you look at the bigger picture, makes it VERY odd.  The first one had dialogue that Ruby could not have physically heard when it was said.  The second was made to sound like it came from a nearby external source (Jaune's recording), but the tone that she say's Jaune's name A) was never said by her at any point, and B) would not have been something that came from the recording, given the instructional tone the recording itself had.  Something WEIRD is going on with Pyrrha, but we don't have enough to know what, or if it means that she'll be FINALLY used as a character in her own right and not just as a crutch for her partner and as a power-up for the main character.

Don't believe everything you see.  There's every chance that the writers might have pulled a fast one on all of us and just covered it up by the....finality of what you saw.  Trick as old as time.

Okay first off aint nobody saying shit about redemption. Human and redemption are two different things.
BTW Pyrrha literally alludes to Achilles, so if you don't like it well deal with it she quite literally went out in the same way.
Ruby was there when Pyrrha died, they were classmates and friends, the dreams could have simply been brought on by the fact that she's haunted by her death. There is literally nothing going on with Pyrrha.
Cinder's soul is tied to Amber's not Pyrrha's, and if RT is going to say that her soul is floating around in there then they better come up with one hell of a story. We already know her voice actor is going to be voicing another character later in the series and Monty had planned to kill Pyrrha the whole time.

Soundwave3591 In reply to ButterflyBlueLady [2017-02-03 14:37:35 +0000 UTC]

I am amazed by how people seem to think "killed" is some final, unalterable thing in a world of bulletproof soul shields and soul-generated superpowers. ESPECIALLY in the context of a character who had her soul messed with. We really need to stop applying real-world mentalities to RWBY, it just doesn't work.

Pyrrha WAS touched by the Maiden powers. they DID enter her body. This is a fact, an unalterable fact. They ENTERED her body, she screamed in pain and was obviously being affected by them. For a brief moment, her soul and Amber's were linked.

THEN Cinder kills Amber, and the Aura link visibly LEAVES Pyrrha's body (not disappear, it is clearly shown going back into Amber) before launching out of the pod and entering Cinder. Now, that isn't something massive, but it's an irrefutable fact: Pyrrha DID touch the Maiden powers.

and on the Achilles story, you do know Achilles soul was pulled from his funeral Pyre by his mother and went to an island of immortal warriors? IE... his soul SURVIVED?

as for Jen Brown, her tweet has already been proven false: she's voiced new lines for Pyrrha in the canon series. She said after V3 she was leaving the character: clearly, she hasn't. therefore the tweet is null and void as a "source."

AraelIsrafel In reply to Soundwave3591 [2017-02-03 22:18:10 +0000 UTC]

That, and when someone is killed, it absolutely MUST be that.  Not even a well-written fake out that revels the character to not have died at all.  Because an author will always be truthful in what they present to you.  Please.  If that were true, the mystery genre wouldn't exist.  It's just another case of someone blindly believing what they see without taking any time to properly analyze and process it, nothing more.

Also, when people cite the Achilles nonsense, it's likely all they actually know about that character: that they got shot in the heel and died, despite otherwise being invincible.  Not that Pyrrha actually was invincible, just that the writers manipulated what we saw of her and how she used her Semblance, as well as the displayed combat capabilities of A) all of her opponents and B) the antagonist cast to make us come to the conclusion that she was tension-destroying in combat....WHEN THAT WASN'T TRUE AT ALL.

So yes, writers can and will lie to their fans, both to their faces and through their narrative and presentation.  It's time their fans learned that.

By the Achilles logic, Weiss should sit and wait for a man to come save her since she's Snow White, Blake's gonna marry Adam because she's Belle and he's the Beast, Jaune's gonna get burned at the stake and Ren's gonna end up a concubine, because they're Joan of Arc and Mulan, after all.

oh, wait, that's NOT gonna happen? the whole "character reference" only applies to Pyrrha, then?

The point is: it is NEVER an ironclad rule that a character that drew reference from a mythological figure must tell that figure's story whole-cloth.

It certainly looks like she was incinerated...except for her crown i guess...somehow?   But looking at it it's more like something of her left her body and just left an aura colored cocoon in it's place, which then blew away like ash.   Also Cinder touches Pyrrha's head so it doesn't fall forward, we don't see her using her power to actually engulf her in flame or anything in the like, at which point she drops the crown as if to say "Wtf?"

ButterflyBlueLady In reply to Omnipotrent [2017-02-03 12:46:58 +0000 UTC]

Cinder was holding onto the crown it was probably left alone because she was touching it. There is a lot that needs to be explained but knowing RT they might not answer them or will give half assed answers. Cinder simply dropped the crown because it meant nothing to her. Taking the life of Pyrrha was like squashing an ant.

Omnipotrent In reply to ButterflyBlueLady [2017-02-04 00:08:06 +0000 UTC]

I'm not denying that as a possibility, but seeing as how her death was important, the events leading up to it, the fact that her voice is still echoing through the nether verse at Cinder parts and in Ruby's dreams with dialogue Ruby was never present for to remember and dream about....and the fact that the rest of the metal on her was incinerated......I don't really buy as a certainty that her touching it is the only reason it didn't burn up, particularly if she lit her afire with said hand, which everyone is saying she did, ultimately making the only point of contact she has with Pyrrha going unharmed....because.........reasons.

Look since Monty died a lot of things are going unexplained and things are even being done without reason or just don't make sense.
One of the greatest things about Monty was the fact that he liked to explain things and not just show the designs as to how he created character's.
Hopefully after this volume we'll get more answer's from the crew.
