"If I were to tell you a story about anyone it would be about two remarkable young children. Children who survived some of the worse kinds of trouble. Some were walkers, some were worse then walkers, but both tasted sadness more than most folk did at their age. Both of them lost their parents, both of them had to do what was necessary to keep them from coming back. Both of them had to grow up.

When they met each other, the knew what kind of boy and girl they had just run into, one who had seen what they'd seen, and done what they had had to do.

They vowed to help each other find the family they were trying to find, toppled many evils, braved many horrors, and saved more lives then they thought they could.

They saw in each other something they hadn't had in a long time, something to hope for, and hope itself.

They watched each others backs for many years, finally until they were old enough to watch the smaller back of a third, little Richard Everett Grimes.

That's the story I'd tell you."
