The premier medium HERC of day. When Russia first fielded this in the first resource war, both North America and Europe were stunned by it. A Medium walker that boasted heavy firepower and moved almost as fast as the Outlaw, Europe was unprepared for such a blitz. The Raptor was a
marvel of technology at the time. Using a new effecient reactor bought from the chinese, and adding heavier hardpoints, the Raptor filled the gap between scout and frontline trooper. the impending release of the Tomahawk would outstrip Raptor by a wide margin. But no new HERC
could match the speed the Raptor possessed. Like the RoadRunner; the Raptor was another low upkeep model that served many poorer nations until the Fire.

Capabilities:

Medium Attack/Ranger as specified in its serial tag, the Raptor is made for either recon in force or as a calvary HERC. The cockpit and torso assembly are shrouded in a good mix of armor and shields. Russian engineers couldn't make venting effecient enough so the shroud extends a few feet away from the body of the machine itself. for a superior field of vision, the cockpit protrudes out from the
torso as well, with the pilots footwell making the cockpit appear to have a 'chin.' For armament, the Raptor has a good mix. Each side of the torso has two hardpoints; one above and one below. the lower points can take the some of the heaviest weapons, while for skirmishing; the upper points can take only medium grade weapons. This allows pilots to create a good balance of energy consumption
and firepower.

Deployment:

Its debut made it an asian continent specific. Deployed in many resource wars, the Raptor garnered a reputation for quick, surgical strikes, and powerful flanking manouvers. After the nuclear holocaust; Russian Resistance members used Raptors to quickly force the Cybrids from a major
HERC foundry. Upon reactivating the foundry, the Restistance churned out massive quantities of Raptor parts for worldwide survivors. European Resistance took a likeing to them and accepted the help. According to an intel thoery; the new Ramses cybrid HERC was invented for the sole purpose of countering Raptor strike teams. Going off of the Ramses similarities to the Raptor; they
believe the design has left the Cybrids tickled. Intel also came up with an upgrade for the Raptor; the device called a MassDriver; allows the HERC to throw its weight into a direction allowing it to primitively knock-down other HERCs.
