There's no need to over-explain stuff. If you leave it ambigious, the viewer can draw whatever meaning they want from it, and it's every bit as valid as the original meaning intended. It annoys me when people try to force a meaning on you. My own page is a bit of a protest against that. You're going about it the right way. The picture's great by the way. And thanks for welcoming me.

I'm just referring to the artist's comment. They said they might write something one day, and I was saying there's no need. Because I believe in art being able to mean many things that the artist did not originally intend. Our viewing of art is shaped by our experiences. For example, if you produced a piece and you told me exactly what it's supposed to mean, and I came up with another meaning for it, mine is just as valid as yours. Or so one school of thought says. If you think I'm talking crap however, don't pay any mind to it.

Oh, no, no, I understand what you're saying. This almost reminds me of Keith Haring, because so many people would look at his art and all of them would analyze it so differently... but there really was no right answer.

A lot of the time I'd rather not analyze something at all. I like art for art's sake. Aesthetics rather than a concept. I hate concepts especially. But I know why I'm saying this, it's because I've been doing English A Level for the last two years. It's turned me into a real cynic.

I'm a cynic because I do analyse. You end up looking for hidden agendas in whatever is said and done. But I'm just weird. And yeah, I know I already said I hate analysing, yet I've just said I do...

You've inspired me to do some poetry of my own, and that's one of the least cynical things I can think of. It's all crap so far, but I'll keep trying.
