Description Basically the same as OTL, but with the Guominjun (國民軍) in dark green surviving the Central Plains War , with one butterfly that it's joined by Yunnan's Long Yun  (龍雲). Another butterfly is less-resounding Fengtian and Ma Clique victories keeping more KMC alive. The Guominjun appeals to the peasants as much as the CCP does--and is just as friendly to the idea of a "party-state" (exactly like Chiang Kai-shek's KMT, in fact). Presumably the Blue Shirts pissed off enough lesser warlords to let the KMC armies stay independent after 1930, keeping Zhang Xueliang (張學良; Manchuria until 1931, and Henan) from threatening Yan Xishan (閻錫山, in Shanxi and Shaanxi) 1930 and letting Yan and Feng Yuxiang  (馮玉祥, Anhui and Henan) remain as linchpins of North Chinese resistance. Chiang comes to an anti-Japanese settlement with the CCP and KMC at Xi'an 1936 (since they actually can't kill him), leaving more and stronger nationalistic warlords running when Japan attacks 1937. Xinjiang is striped red/light green to represent Sheng Shicai (盛世才) turning coat 1942.

In Vienna the Nazis sent their worst goons to trap the Hapsburg family at Schönbrunn and move them to Innsbruck-Reichenau and then Dachau to prevent any Austrian patriotic rallying against the 1939 Staatsanschluß. British destabilization of Mesopotamia (to cheapen oil) has been going on since the 20s TTL, but with the Mideast as a united country it can afford to stay neutral--and coyly sell oil to both sides.

In the US H.P. Lovecraft goes to the doctor and we get the apocalyptic masterpiece "Sandy Spit" (1941) after the '38 Hurricane sent him into windowsill-gnawing ecstasies, the Yankee shanty "The Sea-Branch" (1944), and "Muezza" (1944). "The Marble Fountain" (1946) is too New-Dealer for HUAC and the unofficial censure contributes to his 1947 death by rage-stroke. "Dim Light," mocking the idea of mortals colonizing space, and the twisted " 'Wit and Want' " are run 1949.

What does purple mean in the Chinese continent? Are they communists?

the magenta is Mao's CCP, the dark green Feng Yuxiang's Christian forces (which are friendlier to Mao than Chiang and might re-"imperialize" China in this timeline if Lin Liguo has some more patience)

By the way, is England an enemy of the Reich or what? Because it seems that Soviets invaded British colonial territories.

Sorry, I meant the enemy of the Soviets. Why are they sharing the Iran.

no, it's all the same Axis and Allies as OTL; Iran got invaded out of fear it'd go Axis, and there's no Iraq to invade like in our WWII

ehhhh, I guess this is where my pet TL most closely converges with OTL (except at Vienna, Mesopotamia, and Shanxi)

I don't understand how Imperial Germany loses in WW2, but that's probably a long story.

this is still Nazi Germany--WWI's a standstill TTL, so there's still revolution and Prince Max squeezing him out

But if the Imperials win then how does it end up bad enough for the Nazi's to come to power?

British blockade! more seriously, TTL doesn't have Imperial *victory*, just a standstill that keeps AH dynastic (Vienna attacks Budapest 1919) while still losing the German Flotte and thus the Crown. But basically TTL Weimar Germany enters alt!1923 similar to OTL Weimar: its borders are bigger, and the French are in the Saar instead of the Ruhr, but the civilians are willing to hold plebiscites and shrink and rename the Army (not as much as OTL), so you have enough bad blood to empower an Austrian to lead a pan-German anti-Semitic party--plus you still have von Papen and Hugenberg

AH.com no doubt has much more detailed threads on Weimar-with-surviving-AH-and-Ottomans (and TLs that are way better than mine!)
