Pride Akhet Territory : Marshy and Vegetated
The Medjay's Territory : Alongside Humans
The Medjay are cats raised with humans and trained with human counterparts. They live in cities and towns where their soldier partners occupy. They are rarely found in villages, where local policing is largely up to the residents of that village. They are roughly divided into three different occupations. The Royal Medjay are called to police and maintain order. They are trained to be guardians in cities, and peacekeepers with the powerful Prides of the Delta. They also act as sentinels for sacred temples and crypts.
The largest cluster of Royal Medjay (and the ones TPL will be focusing on) are located in the capital of Egypt- Alexandria. This massive city is rife with activity and -naturally- crime.
Outcasts : Everywhere and Anywhere
Anywhere that isn't claimed by the Coalition is good enough for rogues or loners. When they gather in big enough groups, other cats may consider them to be a Tribe. The Coalition prides know well enough to keep aware and cautious of tribes, as tribes that gain too much power may become a threat to the prides.
Currently with the prides having reduced their borders to a more manageable size, more loners and rogues have had room and freedom to move into places they would have formally been chased out from.
Neutral Territory
Locations that are honored and used by all Coalition prides. The Pantheon Temple
Located in the center of the Delta, this great temple is where the Coalition meets for monthly gatherings under a night-long truce and light of the full moon. It is open air, with no walls that could make wild felines uneasy. The tall stone pillars are covered in paintings and ancient hieroglyphics, and there is a raised stage-like portion in the center where the pharaohs of the prides share their news.
Humans often leave monthly offerings here for the cats on the full moon, and some braver humans may even occasionally gather to welcome them, throwing a small celebration each time for some reason. Luckily, they know to stay out of the temple, and to maintain a healthy distance from the dangerous felines. Cave of the Gods
The mouth of this cave system can be found where the main Nile river splits in two. A powerful location, this sacred place is where the seers of the coalition will gather each month to commune with the divine (ancestors and gods). It takes experienced paws to traverse, as there are tunnels that lead off into other directions that a cat could be lost in for ages. The cave where the seers commune is in a large cavern, where a hole in the roof high above allows light into the cavern. This hole is known as the Moon Eye, and through it trickles a steady stream of the Nile's water, known as the Moon's Tears. The tears splash into a sacred pool of blessed Nile water, and provide the cavern with subterranean life. When the moon enters into the Moon's Eye, it ignites the tears so they appear to glow. This is the gods welcoming the travel-weary seers to drink from the pool and rest. During this rest is where the seers may speak with the divine.
Many other tunnels branch off from the cavern, thanks in part to runoff from the Pool of Tears. One of these paths leads to a deeper, smaller cavern called the Seeker's Cave. The layout and exact location of this cave is unknown and highly sacred, with only the Seeker allowed entrance. In better times when a Seeker existed, they would have spent much of their time there; likely in meditation and talks with the gods, if not walking in the afterlife alongside them.
Today, the Cave of the Gods is not what it once was. Due to the ongoing drought and receding river, the Moon's Tears no longer flow, and the Pool of Tears has dried up. The vegetation within the cave has shriveled up and died, leaving a husk of the magically lush cave it once was. Many seers have felt it is no longer of use to come here, while some hold firm in that if they remain faithful, the gods will return and heal the land. The Whispering Sands
These mysterious dunes to the east of the Cave of Gods carries the essence of the divine, available to experience to any cat who believes. They can easily be found as they are the largest dunes in the area. Climb them, then when you sit here among the sands -if you are silent and still and patient- you may hear the divine whisper to you when the breeze blows. They sing in sweet melodies, the voices of ancestors wishing to reach out to those they have left behind. Western Necropolis
An old and abandoned necropolis, cats (especially Pride Shemu) now use this city of the dead to lay their fallen to rest.
When the gods vanished with the disappearance of the Seeker, this location was the first to see an act of the gods; a blinding flash that protected two Shemu seers from evil spirits. Tanis Necropolis
The Tanis Necropolis is still used by humans for their dead, but they seem to have no qualms with sharing the sacred place with the cats of Pride Akhet. The humans have even set aside a plot of land specifically for them. Giza Necropolis
This Necropolis is far to the south, and it is where felines of the Medjay are usually sent to rest when they die in service to Egypt.
The ancient pyramids and sphinx erected here thousands of years ago are iconic of Egypt and a symbol of the empire's long lived culture and power. Acolytes are encouraged to make a pilgrimage to see them.
