Updated Β - viewport screen grab. a little more refined.
need to polish up the shell, then go back in for the fine details
TOKKA! ...SMASH?
Did this one today, start to finish from a sphere. Dynamesh count was at just over a million, single subtool used (execept for the eyes).
I was inspired by Kenichi Takahashi's alien design. The wide flat head made me think of a snapping turtle, sooooo...

In the end, he turned out very different, but I always give credit to the artists that inspired me! It's just good Karma.
Just a zbrush render for now. Will pose and render again in Vray.
Next I think I'll go back in and break up the subtool and start adding in the skin detail.

I've seen this guy in a small pond by my house. Sometimes when I'm fishing and it is really quiet, I look down and he is staring at me from just under the waters surface. Hes a snapper about 100 years old, and huge.
