Question : why does longer arms actually seems fine on giants ?

Probably because gravity is a bitch and big creatures need to take a break by resting on all fours like a gorilla, or because it looks really cool when they swing a tree with all that reach.
These cyclopses have that arm length because they run forward on all fours, standing isn't that common save for posturing, that and to reach high fruit or leaves.
