My friend asked me to explain to her, in most easy way i can, how to put textures in blender.

I worked it out myself buti think its most...easy way.

Sorry but its in polish only, tho if u follow the pictures u should be able to do it.

Hope i helped lol.

#1

Firstly , we have to select object on which we want to put texture.

Than we have to select a "ball" (i showed it on bottom) and than "Texture buttons" picture.

#2

Now we select some free line , next we click on "Add new" and from a list on right side we choose "image"

#3

Than in a table named "image" we choose "load" and new table shows up. Now we have to choose a directory and texture which we want to put, than click on "select image" .

I suggest to look at that texture before, since we don't have a preview screen here.

#4

After selecting texture we get back to our model, having the chosen texture in "preview" window.

#5

Next we choose - as i showed - "shaded" option to see how our texture look like. I did it one step earlier and i got a result as it is shown.

I am quite happy with look of texture , but it might happen that it will be blurred or scales would go not in a good direction. Next step shows how to deal with that.

#6

After selecting the following options (shown on screen) , try to mess around with options in blue frame (by now i didn't notice third line of matrix to change anything).

It would be best to mess with this matrix while being constatnly in "shaded" option , because then after we do changes in matrix we will dynamically see changes on our model.

I hope it helped ^^

Eh... It would be nice to have English version written in description, but I think I got the gist of it from the pictures. I'm verry new to Blender so this helped a bit.

Ah, I see now. Though I noticed in that version of Blender (I first installed the most recent one, then downloaded the version you have in hopes it would be simpler.) it wasn't showing on the object like in your images, but when I clicked on the Render Image preview thing, it showed up there. Any ideas?

Sorry if I'm annoying you with all these questions, since I literally have had both Blenders for less than two days.

u sure u have same version? i have 2.49b (that "b" seems to make difference). If You do, than i don't really have the idea, since i made this tutorial for some1 like you - girl had no idea what is she doing, but after tutorial she got exactly same things :/

I do have the 'b' in my version.. hmm.. might be something wrong with my computer or the way it downloaded. But I do understand what is supposed to happen, and it did help.
