Description
Started as a class doodle while the Evolutionary Girls Club did some showing of their movies (Which were by far, rather interesting).Merrick/Mirage (top) learning that money can only go so far, when it comes to what he truly wants.
A somewhat younger Jace/Jazz (Middle) and Sarah/Steeplechase. It's hard enough drifting about without a stable job in that Big Apple, what more saddled with a sister you've got to raise yourself, but he's tryin'.
And Preston/Prowl (Bottom), close to wit's end. Sure, one of the best cops around, tons of solved cases under that belt, yet still unable to solve one closest to him.
Steeplechase/Sarah Chase is property of ~chibijaime
Done (silly as it sounds) to the Davy Jones theme from POtC.
Will probably be scrapped later. X3

I love how all of this focused on siblings. Love Merrick's expression there, and I understand how he feels. I know of some people (wealthy ones, at that) who would give absolutely anything, pay any price, if it meant that their loved one would be saved. Sadly, that's not always the case, because nothing short of a miracle can save someone who is in completely dire straits.
Jace and Sarah here are lovely. It probably wasn't too easy for him during those first few years when Sarah was still so young and really needed someone to look after her, but if anything, he seems happy despite how difficult it must have been for him.
And Preston... Oh dear God I want to hug him and kiss him and make it feel all better. Or maybe I should send Nijae to do that. She'd make everything okay, I'm sure.
*pauses*
Damn it, this is spawning fic in my head. See what your art makes me do?

Aye to that, even more for those in Merrick's position really; You've got the power, the money, yet you can't do anything but watch them waste away in front of you. It's this that helped humble him a bit methinks.
Ah, Jace and Sarah. Just two more souls wandering the NY streets tryin' a make it through their lives, one day at a time. It gets a little better later on though, when big brother learns to manage his own bussiness. Anything to make sure little sister grows up proper and gets education. (Pursuit of Happiness? LOL)
Heeeeee, I'm sure Nijae will find a way eventually to brighten things up for him a bit, she would. He'll need her to keep him sane when this mood overcomes him. *Nods*

Totally agree with you on Merrick. What happened to his sib, by the way? Judging from the blood transfusion bag, I'd say it was a blood-related disease (leukemia?), but it could have been something else...
So Jace and Sarah had a hard time before Jace's business picked up? What sort of business does he run? And I love how he's trying to do the best he can for Sarah. Just shows what sort of guy he is, really...
Nijae has been through some craziness herself - especially where it concerns Sabela: it's a reflection (somewhat) of why Shadowrunner doesn't laugh anymore. Yes, 'Runner's not as stable as she might come off as, and I plan to write about that - after I finish the gift fics for you and NightyIcons , of course.

Not the sleazy backend types though, the kind you get nice jazz music and good lighting to go with.
Ronan's already gonna kill him for bringing Sarah over there occasionally when he's got extra work, he might as well keep it (hopefully) as child friendly as his standards can get. XDXD
Indeed, he does work there as well, not just involved with the running of it; occasional bartending, audits, the likes. Not that he can't have others to take his place, but he does enjoy being around people, and the place means a lot to him as it is.
Running such a spot also means he's got ears at places one can't simply access, which makes him invaluable to Preston (who drops by every now and then, the rare occasions he actually attempts to unwind..) as a friend and informant both.
Sad's fine. Sad's good sometimes really. So it'll be more serious, I take it; All the more better character development to go with. *sits and waits patiently*.

Oh, I know Jace wouldn't run anything sleazy. The man's got a rep to maintain, after all - and he has to keep that rep as clean as possible, if only for Sarah's sake.

You know, I've really started to get sick of the Transformers-turned-human art. It's everywhere now. But your pictures I have yet to be tired of and I get excited every time I see you post a new doodle. Jazz and Steeplechase are SOOO adorable in this. And poor Prowl, he looks like he could use a back rub *cracks knuckles* Ooh la la.
Oh, and I've been thinking about what you said about your stories you wanted to do based on these pictures. If you still need help, I'll be willing to proofread your fics and let you bounce ideas off of me if you need it. I've been writing for YEARS.
I can't help you with the writing process because I've got so many projects myself. But I would be willing to set aside some extra time to help you pretty it up if you needed it.

Jazz is the most wonderful big brother ever, and he gets along well with his little bundle of energy to take care of. That's the cutest pic of 'Chase and Jazz I've ever seen anyone draw. It really does have to be tough trying to raise a little sister when you don't have a lot to go on.
You remain one of the only ones who has permission to use her when you feel like it. I really like seeing how you draw her anyway. X3
