IDEK about Puckworld because we barely get anything to go by about the character’s histories prior to the Saurian invasion outside of quick bullet points
(SHE MILITARY, HIM THIEF), but I like to imagine Mallory was, in the past, probably acquainted with ‘the Duke’ before she ever met the rest of the team, trying to put a stop to his criminal ways on her own because fuck it she’ll get it done, just watch.

Meanwhile he’s super supportive of her ambitions to be on the top of the law enforcement food chain which doesn’t involve handcuffs on him (only after the fifth date, not before, Labwa***!) , catch him all “YOU’RE DOIN’ GREAT RED!” while on one of their usual chases.
