Not much is known about this strange ectoplasmic orb who materialized one day close to the borders of the Allardyce household, initially intrigued by a fresh kill brought back by Okoye who, to Rhames' surprise, saw no issue in sharing it with the ghostly carnivore. The thing which identified as female began to, as all cats did upon finding a open door and food, lurk around household and eventually simply became a part of it, coming and going as she pleased though she had particular fondness for the dark trees where light couldn't break through the canopy when night fell.
Rhames named her Tenebrae and allowed her to live a semi-feral life with him until she eventually decided the inside of home as inviting as the outside, having a particular fondness for his study where she can be found trying to cram herself in oh so many dark, small spaces in his shelves and drawers, which may alarm some visitors who open one to find a startled Gastly flying off.
Tenebrae doesn't have much concept of family, it's not like her kind had any particular social bond with each other but she does like this home and she does like its inhabitants and staying sounds most agreeable to her.

- Not particularly mean-spirited as most Ghost-types can be; she just has a morbid sense of humor which she becomes extremely apologetic about if she genuinely traumatizes someone. She's awkward. She's trying.
- If you appreciate her brand of humor though, she'll adore you.
- She has a fondness for carrion over fresh meat. Rhames suspects she's a branch of the Gengar line who live in the shadows as scavengers.
- The cat that brings you back dead offerings is nowhere as alarming as the undead cat who can materialize through your walls to present it proudly to you in bed. Why are you screaming?
- She's honestly lonely even if she doesn't say it and finds quiet joy in being around Okoye and Rhames when he's in his study.
- Despite their opposing types, she's quite close to Okoye who's taken her under their wing like a little sister.
- Loves horror movies. Love pointing out ridiculous things in horror movies. Humans in haunted houses have no semblance of sense whatsoever.
- Is basically an undead cat.
