Shadowlocke: Infection Quest - Carte 001Early January in Issho painted the inner parts of the region with snowfall several feet deep, with steppes looking like wintery wastelands and only evergreen forests breaking up the monotony of the landscape with sporadic bursts of greenery though the cold was certainly no excuse for slacking up on training  as the motley group of Pokemon gathered in a small circle around their Trainer could attest to.
“Aight team, we’re gonna to dive into some theory before we hit the practical part of today’s little exercise.”
Rhames informed them briskly as he paced about in the snow and his Pokemon’s line of sight kept up with his every move.
“Trust me when I say I ain’t makin’ none o’ ye fight unless it’s a sitch that calls for it, but when that sitch hits, ye best be makin’ every hit count ‘cause the other team‘ll be playin’a win, or worse . The silver-haired woman from the Herpetology department said impassively as she examined the gaping wound on Lazarus’ shoulder which Rhames was helping to patch up alongside her.

She sighed with a shake of the head, her voice making it clear that a positive outcome was slim especially with the savagery that was dealt with these wounds. Even the smallest of cuts could be infected if a Pokemon was unlucky enough to be in contact with a diseased vector; with an injury this deep, it was a unspoken certainty that it was going to be infected despite the early-stage care.

“He’s not gonna die is he?”
Dry. The roof of his mouth was dry thinking about this, about the blood and mucus on his scrubs every time he went into the quarantine zone to care for his friend, about the fact that Lazarus was no longer eating, about the possibility that he could actually lose the loyal wyvern who’d been his first Pokemon companion on these shores.
And of course Zoe would assume the worst; Zoe who’d seen her Purrloin protecting her mauled to death at seven, Zoe who
