Whew, this took a while. This is for 's contest to fill "Planet V" with critters. I'm sorry if you can't read it, I had to squish a lot of writing into a small space.

A few things I wanted to add but couldn't find the space: The females have a larger range than the males because they can fly and the males are limited by how much frozen ocean there is to cross between continents. The "camp" is almost exactly on the North pole, and yes, one of the migration routes goes alllll the way around and ends on a little island. The males are pack hunters and they kill with their teeth; the females are aerial hunters and they kill with their front claws (and eat on the ground). Their gestation period is two months, about two-thirds the time it takes to fly a male back to the camp. Their shoulder blades are only loosely attached to their ribcage and spine, and can move up and down a few inches to act like shock absorbers. And I couldn't think of a good name for them, so ... skiing.

I think I'll make these an open species, but keep in mind that they don't have any markings, they have a limited color scheme, and they're about as intelligent as dogs, although they're more aggressive. You wouldn't want to have one of these as a pet. Just message or note me before you make one.
