Description
The Mariner's sunship the Helios. I just finished this a week or two ago. The sketch has been sitting around rolled up for a while, and I think it got sat on at some point, so that's why there are vertical creases along the bottom edge. It tends to roll up, so I put some weights on the corners. I actually drew this three times: once in really hard pencil, so you couldn't see it, then again in fine-tipped pen, but the shading was awful, then finally in a combination of fine-tipped and brush-tipped. As a finishing touch, I added some stars and a planet in the background. Don't worry if you can't see them.

The words say, if you can't read them in the photo, "The Helios is perhaps one of the finest sunships ever made. Captained by the Mariner, Tom Shelvocke, she is an excellent means of sailing into the fiery core of a star. The Helios is eighty feet from bow to stern, and the solar sails are 100 feet long each. She is capable of anchoring within a star for several hours, thanks to her shining golden hull and the skill of her captain. although she carries enough provisions for forty men, no one but the Mariner, Grim Tuesday, Lord Arthur, and Suzy Turquoise Blue have set foot on her deck for over ten thousand years."
