Robin grew up technical-minded in a family (and town) that favored artistry. Not one for learning the traditional weaving or pottery, or even participating in the annual craft festivals, she searched for every opportunity to leave the town behind to hike in the forest or play by the lake at the next town over. She arrived in Lilypad in September 2020 after graduating with a degree in marine biology from Lazuli River University. When people think of Robin, most envision her working diligently day and night on her research... her work ethic is impressive, to say the least. She graduated just after turning 21 and hit the ground running.
Despite her technical brain, Robin is a bit flighty and ungrounded. She grew up an only child, never met her grandparents, didn't bond with her college roommates, recently lost her mom, and isn't close to her father. She regularly sought the praise of her professors and, now that university life is over, seeks validation via research paper publication. She finds stability in her online relationships, most stemming from the chat server she's moderated for the past 6+ years. Robin has a soft heart and seeks to reach out to others, helping them feel appreciated online. She pours hours into reading fanfics and giving thoughtful critique on everything, trying to keep her beloved server feeling like home.
It was in this server that she met Wintersong51. The cautious newcomer ("Sierra," she introduced herself as) seemed drastically out of place online and clearly had little knowledge of social norms. Robin befriended Sierra by complimenting her art even when Sierra's cold attitude turned many away, and within a few months a strong friendship was born. In a way, Robin and Sierra "grew up together" by supporting one another online- Robin as the bubbly writer and Sierra as the analytical artist. The thing is... Robin is still in the dark about the truth that Sierra, the friendly sand cat, is an online persona played by a snow leopard named Courtney .
In "Take a Breath ," Sierra invited Robin to become her housemate in Lilypad, and Courtney changed his physical appearance to reflect the look he gave Sierra. Time will tell how Robin reacts to the truth... if she ever learns the truth at all.

~ HISTORY ~
Robin grew up strangely distant from water for a river otter... Born and raised in Radiance Town, she grew up surrounded by adobe and sandstone buildings in a thriving community of artists. Her father is a weaver and her mother used to paint, and were mildly disappointed when Robin made it clear she was more interested in writing research papers than sculpting with clay. In her teens, Robin developed a presence online and soon befriended Wintersong51... AKA Sierra, AKA Courtney . There they became good friends and even grew to confide in each other frequently.
Robin attended college at Lazuli River University some ways west of Lilypad, pursuing her love of research and the ocean. She joined the university's swim team, but had no interest in sports beyond that. Robin's roommates often thought her a little closed off, her attention split between swim, school, and her mod work; it would be accurate to say she doesn't have any close friends outside of those she's made online. During her time at university, her mother passed away, so Robin is new to life with a single father. Though he cares for her, he isn't too touchy-feely and that's one more motivation to set off on her own.
In spring 2020, Robin graduated with a degree in marine biology. She spent a few months living and writing at home, and in July ("Take a Breath "), she reached out to Sierra and made plans to move to Lilypad... something both parties were quite excited about, despite Courtney's secret underlying panic.
Robin arrived in Lilypad in September during my story " Robin's Egg Blue." Courtney greeted her in the guise of Sierra, still firmly sticking to the story that Sierra is a female sand cat and nothing more. Robin seems to be settling in happily and can often be found in Sierra's company when she wanders through town. She's quite invested in Meche/Della's situation and has taken it upon herself to help Courtney turn the young girl human again once and for all.

TRIVIA
★ Came to Lilypad to research its ocean life
★ Sometimes says her catchphrase as "Splish-splash," especially when she's nervous or excited
★ Always seems to be working on yet another scientific paper no matter how soon you catch her after she finished the last one; says she's working on her thesis but even I question how legitimate that is
★ Loves to swim and can hold her breath for 15 minutes
★ Very athletic and prone to parkour... Shows off with impressive backflips when she dives. Not a lot of upper body strength, though
★ Slides on her belly through mud or snow
★ Showers excessively (It's not you- it's her otter instincts! ... Not to mention the skunk stereotypes...)
★ A little gullible... She'll analyze Pogo's prices with suspicion, but the creepiness of his cart sets off no red flags and she'll happily pick out a "cute collectible doll" before skipping home
★ Online moderator for six years running; helps manage a fandom server dedicated to the CC world's parallel of Disney/Pixar movies (and has known Courtney for most of that time... Much of what he knows about the world beyond his sheltered, wealthy life is secondhand knowledge learned from the fandom)

★ Writes fanfics on occasion. Usually short, crisp one-shots and not multi-chapters. Not very skilled at drawing, though... She has Sierra for that! (Courtney draws the covers for her fanfics)

★ Still trying to figure out what to do with herself now that she's said goodbye to the school routine
