Meche dislikes listening to authority, or rather dislikes any authority that's based on you holding a rank but not having the physical strength to defend your title. She will respect anyone who beats her in a fight. She responds poorly to aggression, threats, or anyone indicating she is weak or submissive. In the eyes of adults she's little more than a massive brat that Courtney has limited control over, but if she wants to be your friend she'll tone herself down (and will continue toning herself down as you build a closer friendship).
Meche is always raring to go, but her energy comes in bursts (in contrast with Candle who is high energy at all times). She loves to burn her energy by roughhousing, but can also be convinced to settle down for story time or a coloring book. She isn't full of giggles, but does get starry-eyed if you can impress her. Meche legitimately does want to pit her strength against yours. When she says "Fight me" she legit wants you to fight her. She just wants to play! This poor girl would have THRIVED if CC was a Pokémon ARPG sdfsofjsjsdfs. Would be delighted if you would roll around in the mud with her.

Currently, Meche lives in Mango 's guest room, usually found petting Jamboree, reading, or just sleeping. Even before Della became part of her, Meche always was a quiet loner who would rather sit, read, do her schoolwork, or daydream instead of playing video games, watching TV, or drawing. Recently, Meche has honed her focus in on Kit, and trying to expel Kit from Courtney's body, as Meche considers Courtney the brother she always wanted and wants to fight for him instead of running away. Besides that, her latest hyperfixation is plotting what she'll say when she runs into her brother again... and plotting ways to talk Mango out of sending her to school here in Lilypad.

★ Ticket Paperwork: Was filed on standard paperwork at birth and still considers herself a standard villager even though she has experienced weird shapeshifting stuff and gained water powers. Since the Krakens vs. Unicorns turf war, however, she suspects she may be mythical

★ Lilypad Reputation: Meche was famously fused with a whale shark, and it's possible that many villagers have heard what happened to her in stories like "Stolen Dance " and "Take a Breath ."

★ Notable Life Plans: The Gablius family is considering adopting her; tensions are rough right now with family stuff. She's currently in school and hangs out with her friends Eva and Beckett.
★ Raider Relations: Dislikes most raiders, but tolerates those she already knows. She likes Beckett, trusting him more than most since she believes his shapeshifting is tied to the moon and therefore predictable
★ Raider Forms: N/A - Is not a raider, but if she were, her standard form would be her snow leopard form, or else a tiger or whale shark. If cursed by Finch, her object form would be a Mercedes car (if name known) or a whale shark paperweight

~ HISTORY ~
Della started life as a curious but naïve whale shark who drifted to and fro in the ocean around Lilypad, only to end up hooked on Courtney's fishing line at the tender age of 6 and get hauled into Pepper's boat. Courtney fed, bathed, and bandaged her for many months (she always did have a tendency to scratch her belly on things when she swam too close to shore). Meche started life as a rough and tough human girl who longed to be a dragon or similar awesome monster someday, only to stumble into Lilypad at the tender age of 10 and end up as a human x whale shark hybird instead ("Stolen Dance ") when her human body became fused with Courtney's pet shark.
Courtney immediately brought her to the clinic , begging Dr. NPC to reverse the transformation, and was informed that the situation was so complicated, only Courtney would be able to safely reverse it. Thus, Courtney threw all his worth as a person into his ability to "save Meche" ... especially after Candle was kidnapped right before his eyes.
From May 8th until July 21st, the human x shark hybrid generally followed Courtney around, and most notably participated in the Wizards and Dragons event as part of Team Wizard . After two months with Meche, Courtney attempted to turn her back into a human by forcibly separating her DNA from Della's, despite Dr. NPC's warnings to wait longer before he attempted this. This resulted in Meche becoming a mermaid with a human upper half and a whale shark lower half and put Della's brain in control of the body. Believing Meche to be gone, Courtney went into massive shock and denial, blaming himself for ruining her life and trying to avoid her as much as possible. For several months, Courtney offered Della barely-above-minimum care, providing her with water and food and trying not to dwell on his mistakes.
Meche regained her human body at the end of "Masquerade: Forget-Me-Not " when Kit possesed Courtney's body and discovered the human x whale shark hybrid in hir inventory. With a roll of hir eyes and a snap of hir fingers, Kit scoffed that Courtney couldn't do anything right and unhesitatingly returned Meche to human form. Meche seems okay now... I'm sure she's fine.
Meche appeared in "Diamond Dust " where she declared that looking for dragon eggs was more exciting than poking around Robin and Sierra's bedroom without permission.

TRIVIA
★ Hybrid form is "retired" for story purposes and should only be depicted in pieces that take place between May 9th and July 21st, 2020 (or contain flashbacks or memories to this form in some way). Mermaid form should only be depicted in pieces that take place between July 21st and December 30th, 2020. Meche regained her human form the night of December 30th
★ In both non-human forms, can "breathe" underwater, but for no more than an hour. Still a mammal and requires air. Can dive deeply and handle salt water. Can easily drown in human form and sometimes Della forgets this
★ Despite seeming to have a short temper, she's actually very good under pressure //rimshot
★ Fluent in both Spanish and English. Knows a few Latin words that Courtney has taught her.
★ As a hybrid, had stubby human fingers awkwardly fused onto her fins. Was sensitive about them and kept the gloves on. Very limited dexterity. Prone to getting trapped in rooms with round doorknobs you need to twist.
★ Meche's rule of liking things is "I don't like girly things, but if I DO like them, anyone who pokes fun can fight me."
★ Likes to sing and dance unless you laugh at her. Then she'll throw hands.
