There's so much artistic goodness in this scene that it's hard to know where to begin (but I must try. ) Princess Luna herself is gorgeous, even glamorous as all of her guilt and regret and shame flow out of her to form the monster, and the sadness shows in her face as she "knows" she can't just send it away but must bind herself up in its evil. Meanwhile the beast is as menacing for its ethereal qualities as much as its creepy form and cold stare at its all-too-willing victim. Creepy tentacle mane gives me the shivers!

The style itself is fantastic, with the "folded and stained paper" look giving a broken feeling to the Tantabus and, if I want to read way too much into it, the idea that it's old and worn and totally outdated, useless – and we all have a things like that we don't ever want to let go of. The softness of Luna's form and the highlighted edges for contrast give her visual depth to match her deeply pained expression. Thanks for such an awesome take on this creature's creation and how much of a sacrifice Luna was willing to make.

Wow I am quite taken aback by this lengthy comment.
Thank you very much for taking time to analyze and enjoy my art~ It means a lot to me that you did that.
I was watching the episode while doing this drawing so I felt very immersed in it's underline meanings, emotions and thought processes of what Luna must have been feeling. I have went through my own bouts of guilt and the depressions that have followed so I sort of incorporated that into my work a bit.
