Yes, and the dress fabric too! I'm a sucker for tone on tone black textures, this one is fantastic. Can I ask where you found it?

Ok, don't laugh.
It was a bargain rack JoAnn fabrics purchase, but I thought that there was enough natural cotton fiber in it that it would work out.
I believe that it was originally upholstery fabric because it was 60" wide, but it's very thin for that purpose. Just goes to show that you can find good stuff anywhere!

Early 20th century. The ivory probably puts it somewhere in the teens.
I found it in an antique store in upstate New York.

Not really. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but it certainly wasn't what I would have expected.
Sometimes findings and jewelry parts can be found fairly affordably at antique stores, rummage sales and Goodwill's.

The lace trim that I chose was already embroidered. I flatted it to two pieces of contrasting taffeta and added the tiny velvet bows.
