Description
For my costume Design Class, we were assigned to take influences from various places and combine them into a collection of plates. In this case, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse by Albrecht Durer came to mind. Next, I was inspired by some 18th century engravings of soldiers fighting with pirates that I dug up. Finally, the icing on the cake came in the form of my ipod shuffle line up featuring: Metallica, Motorhead, the Misfits and Rob Zombie.
The challenge then became how to link these different points of inspiration without sacrificing any of them.
So, here we have Glen Danzig of the Misfits as Death.

You totally -should- make that frock coat. I wouldn't mind seeing a stab at the whole set up. I was equally surprised by Death's color being pale green, the black cloak and scythe image is just so prevalent.
PS: Your 'Das Phantom' phantom costume is thoroughly awesome. "Nur ein bisschen," indeed...

Yeah, I was sort of inclined to the iconic image as well, but biblically the color black is associated with famine instead. Weird. But the green worked out pretty nicely.
Thank you very much! I'm glad that you like it!

Hehe! I like the contrast of the bones against the black, the color choice was really good on your part! Definitely my favorite as well!

Thanks! I went with the typical color descriptions seen in art even though it originally threw me off a bit. I always thought that Death was represented in black instead of Famine. Just goes to show ya....always do your research.

*nod nod* It reminds me of a story my theatre teacher told me about lying on resumes and why you don't do it >w<
The green is really defining though, it bites ya :3

Clearly I should acquire a mohawk and beg the grand designers permission to make a fan reproduction. I'd wear it all the time.
The "bone" embroidery/trim is kickass.

The whole set is amazing, but this is easily my favorite. I just swoon for the embroidery that alludes to his bones. It rocks. Lovely work.

Thanks very, very much. If I got to see this through to completion, the coat would be of a textured fabric...like snakeskin or something with a good bumpy nature.

Oh, of course!
The expense is really the only hangup. I'd really want to make this out of some quality material.
