Description
This is a re-vamped version of my Red Death ( original design sen in the Schumacher film) which was used as a Portfolio Piece for my trip to NYC.Same materials as before, just some new bits of tailoring and better ( more comfortable) boots.
My model here is Jason White. You'll be seeing alot of him in my stuff::grins:: because he's that awesome.

Quick question... Well, first let me compliment you on the AMAZING job you did on the costume. It really is an amazing piece and I am quite envious that I do not own it. If you ever need anyone to flatter you on demand, you know who to contact.
Back to the question: Where did you find those boots? For the life of me, I can't find a comfortable pair within a decent price range.
much obliged if you would provide a link.

Unfortunately I found those boots in a thrift store in Kennesaw, Georgia and have not found another pair like them in all of my subsequent years of thrifting. However, I have since replaced them with a pair of black Chippewa engineer boots which have worked out pretty well.

Thanks very much! I really appreciate the compliment!

Of this one? Probably not. However, I have made a different version of the Red Death which will be photographed soon.

wow, your pants deffinitely fit a hell of a lot better than mine did. . .
(in my deffense, my customer wanted them looser to be comfortable--yours still look much better)

Thank you! These pants were made of a stretch velveteen so as to allow for that kind of skin tightedness. I was afraid that I'd eventually split the real stuff.

just out of curiosity, how long did it take to put that costume together?

Well, it went through two incarnations first.
The construction took a couple of days, but the fabric painting seemed to take FOREVER.

Fantastic. Do you want to work in theatrical costuming out here in NYC, then?

I'd love to...someday.
For now, bouncing between Atlanta and D.C. is just fine for me.::smirks::

OMG...I have been looking EVERYWHERE online for this costume...Now, I am alittle confused, do you sale the costumes? Because, if you do I would love to buy this one! One of my friends is having a masquerade and I told her I would be her phantom so yea...lol But, please, if I could possibly buy, let me know. Thanks!

Mmm..I wouldn't sell *this* one since it was a bit of a labour of love.
However, I do take comissions and I could certainly give advice on how to cobble it together if you set out to do it yourself.

Well, this would certainly be a difficult project to thrift, but hey...stranger things have happened.
Either thrift for a 3/4 length red velvet blazer and pants (to alter considerably)...
... or hire a good stitcher and buy at least 13 yards of velvet.
The shirt can be thrifted as can the boots.
The craveat is just a loooooong tube of silk with the ends sewn shut.
At any rate, be prepared for alot of embroidery or fabric painting.
Hope that was helpful in the least.
