Edit:
Thanks for the Daily Deviation and for all the favs, There are a lot to thank each one, but I'll answer all the comments, maybe it will take some time, but I'll answer.

The hair and pants do have shading, but I probably should've shaded more area than I did instead of just close to the edges. The black and dark brown are also the darkest colors, so it's probably not quite as noticeable. Hmm... I probably used more than one color for the pants, like two browns and black, and perhaps something else, but I don't really remember.

The landscape thing was done in a Strathmore Sketch pad, but I didn't color very hard at the time. ...It might look better in the sketch pad, actually. I may not have adjusted the colors good enough after scanning, and/or it could depend on what kind of light I view it in. The first pic also seems more colorful in person at the moment, even though I thought a photo would show the true colors.

Probably try with a lighter shade of brown (but the photography lighting's what's being a pain in the neck-it happens to all of us when working with traditional media; you could adjust the lighting on GIMP or another type of program).

I used to own one of those-it's ok for Crayola; has a strange texture to it so you end up having to go over it a few times if you shade lightly.

From what I've seen in tutorials here on DA, crayola can be used on it's own & mixed with a variety of other materials in order to achieve a more noticeable look with certain colors (it's tough to blend due to its wax content but since it doesn't streak & comes in variety of colors, it's easy to live with).

This one was with twistables but they contain the same wax lead naochiko.deviantart.com/art/Co…

This one pretty much discusses what the tutorial we're on mentions, but with Crayola pencils (also the pics are dark but in the finished piece you can see it clearly) magicsinyou.deviantart.com/art…

And this one's just a combination with a few other materials which looks awesome arseniic.deviantart.com/art/Ho…

(if you ever do use Crayola in combination with Prisma, lay the Prisma as a base color lightly to reduce the colors streaking-Prisma are easy to blend with but the colors will get everywhere if you're not careful since the lead in them is kinda like using a graphite pencil-press it too hard on a paper then touch it unless your intention is to blend, you'll have to clean your hands before you continue working).

I've tried only once the Crayola colors, and were not mine, were from a friend, but they turned to be a bit difficult for correctly blending them, maybe they were a ceaper version, but I can absolutely recommend you the Prismacolor, even the cheaper version of them are good, but not as good as the more expensive, this drawing was made using the cheaper version of Prismacolor, opheroth.deviantart.com/art/Li… they're a set of 12 like this ones www.orpamex.com.mx/tienda/2458…

Thanks and I don't think they're regular, they're Prismacolor Premiere, and somehow toxic, but the tutorial applies for all the colors who can me mixed
