Beautiful! I watched this live on CNN and I felt really emotional knowing that my favourite Shuttle was now retired. Discovery was stubborn before her final launch, but she performed brilliantly during her mission, looked after her crew as she always has, and this smooth landing was the perfect end to her long and illustrious career. Farewell Discovery!

Ah damn! I was watching it live.
I am still considering to get myself a tickets to fly to Florida for Endeavor. Last chance to see the shuttle take off.
I hope that you have more pictures coming?

My image take lately has been really limited, however I will go back through the landing images and see if there are any that would be worth posting here on DA. Now tonight (Thursday, March 10) we will be rolling out Endeavour from the VAB in preparation for it's STS-134 mission next month. I will also have images of rollout here too!

The STS-134 rollout shots are up as are the 2011 Tico Airshow images from Saturday and Sunday. Apparently the single STS-133 landing image currently posted is going to be it for that event.

I read it's off to the Air & Space in D.C. now. I have not been their for a few years, but it was over full back then

It will most likely go over to the Udvay Hazey Smithsonian Air & Space Annex at Dullas Airport in Virginia. If you have not been in a while this Annex is well worth the trip. You'll need more than a day to see eveything this annex has to offer.

I have to thank you!
I did not know about this part of the Air & Space.
I have only ever been to the one that is on the
capital quad (or what ever they call it).

In the next year or so, it's a fair bet that the Udvay Hazy Smithsonian Annex could be premiring the Space Shuttle "Discovery" OV-103. On April 12th of this year the NASA administrator will officially announce the three museum locations for the three remaining orbiters. It is a forgone conclusion that the Smithsonian will undoutably recieve Discovery.

Discovery lived up to her name. She served us well. May she rest in peace. Excellent shot, my friend.

Thanks Jim, I was sitting in the wrong place to get a good shot today, but what an awesome sight to see her pass over, turn and come down. I went back out for the trip from the SLF to the OPF too - actually got some photos that I'm going to go through in 3...2...1

It was amazing seeing the landing. I could see the shuttle up until it went below the tree line. I can't believe Discovery is retired now!
I wish there was some place to see Endeavours roll out, a lot going on with the shuttles today...

Endeavour's Rollout has slipped a minimum of 24 hours due to incoming weather tonight. Hopefully we will rollout tomorrow night.

Thanks for letting me know! Do you know if there is a good place to watch from?

Unfortunately for rollout the only place to see anything is right on the crawler way in front of the VAB. There are no acceptable viewing locations off center.

Your always welcome Ric. Although this is far off my best attempts at shuttle operations images. I'm really struggling with camera/lens issues and I can't quite put my finger on what the problems are.

First Endeavour (STS-134) then Atlantis (STS-135) if Congress appropriates the funding.
