Description I think I really like orange and blue together. =u=;
Remember how I uploaded this WIP awhile ago? Yeah, I would have finished it a lot sooner, but I completely dropped the project. I was planning on giving this drawing to Pretentious Douchebag, buuuut he was being, well, a pretentious douchebag and I decided not to.

It's so weird, Daniel has been such a huge part of my life for the past eight months or so, but I haven't really mentioned him at all. |D; This year has me really busy with things in general, plus I don't draw much from lack of inspiration and motivation and the thought of "uggghhh effort", eheh.

Hope you like it, though! Critique is welcomed and always made use of. <3 I'm so sorry if I don't get a chance to reply. Chances are, if I don't right away, I end up never doing it, I'm so sorry ;A;" I feel like a total asshole like that, and I'm sorry if I come off as one, but I read every message and appreciate them so much.

Asdfkgldglsk ;u; Thanks so much, that made me smile. <3 I really love your style too~!
I wish I could work with brush lines like you do instead of pixel ones, but I'm so used to pixelated stuff now that it's second nature. =u=;;

;u; on the other hand, I want to do pixel artworks, I've never tried before, it seems so pretty, the way you do it xD You use Paint Tool Sai for it? Or MsPaint? (I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but a lot of people I know use MsPaint for Pixel art, so I just assumed^^")

Aww, thank you! |D
Paint Tool SAI. c: I'd like to work with Paint, but for some reason it seems so much easier in SAI. It can be done in Photoshop, but it's a lot smoother in the other two.

O_O Wow, really? I didn't know Paint Tool SAI could do pixel art, I should really get myself a copy and try it! I've thought about doing pixel art before, but never had never bothered to really get down to do it. Is there a particular brush setting to make it appear "pixelated"? Perhaps adjust hardness to "100%" or something? (sorry if it's a silly question, I've been using Photoshop all my life so I'm not familiar with Paint Tool SAI x'D)

Yeah, it can if you know how to do it. ouo It has a pixel brush that can be very smooth~
I'm not sure if you're asking about Photoshop or Paint Tool SAI, but:
In Paint Tool SAI, you use the binary tool and there's a way to create a pixel eraser, while in Photoshop there should be an option to switch from the brush tool to the pixel tool. [link] With the eraser, there should also be an option to change it to 'pencil' or 'block', which are pixelated. [link]
Does that help? |'D

That link looks like a screenshot of Photoshop CS5 or above I'm using CS3 (soooo backward, I know XD) But the Pencil tool should exist in CS3 either way, so I'll go look for it, thanks for the head's up!

I have a question though, and if it's alright I'd like to ask you for your opinion? I've been contemplating using Paint Tool SAI for a while now, since it seems (at least, from the speedpaints of others that I've seen) that once you draw an outline, it's easy to fill that in, and the colours don't go outside the lines (unlike when I draw on photoshop where I'd have to personally go over the spaces between the lines, which wastes a lot of time). It'd be a time saver if that really is how it works. Unless it only applies to thick outlines and thin ones don't work or...? What is your opinion?

An example of what I mean can be seen in this speedpaint: [link]

It seems that they just.. fill it in so easily and you can start adding shadows directly

I'm not sure what CS5 looks like, but that was actually Elements 7~ owo
Did you end up using the pencil tool, by the way? |'D I'm sorry for the late reply. I've gotta figure out why I get so wishy-washy about replying to people because it's f'ing annoying. >3>

Hmm... I'm not sure exactly how Paint Tool SAI's bucket fill tool is different from Photoshop's, I haven't used the latter in a long time. I could do a join.me sometime and show you how I do it?
I don't use anything but pixel lines, but you know how pixels are so exact? If I don't have any holes in my lineart, I can just select outside of the drawing. Normally, you would make a selection of the parts you want to color, but I don't because the lineart is too complicated. So I select outside of the lineart's drawing, in the background, and then I invert the selection so the parts I want to color are selected instead. But if you make lineart with the regular brush tool, you can always select what you want and then expand the selection by a pixel or two. That makes the selection go partly into the lineart so it covers everything. That probably doesn't make sense the way I explained it, though. ;A;

And I've seen that speedpaint before, such a great artist! c: It goes too fast for me to understand what they're doing, though, sorry. D:

Ohhh opps xD I thought it was CS 5- /slowpoke.jpg

Hmmm nope, but maybe I really should. I guess I'm just really used to using the paintbrush tool for making lineart coz of the 'feathery' look it gives at the edges when I apply light pressure on the stylus ;u; If I'm not mistaken, pencil tool gives it a hard, pixel-y edge..? Though, I really should try, just to find out. Who knows, I might like it xD

Actually, I do understand what you just said xD Since I recall you teaching me exactly the same method (the selection tool and expanding the selection by 1 or 2 pixels) during one of my join.me's, when I was drawing a dragon and dying coz of the amount of markings on that dragon lol. The problem with that is, despite the fact that it selects almost all the edges, it's still... hmm I don't really know how to put it, it doesn't get to all the spaces (both within the lineart, and outside the lineart too sometimes), and in the end I have to go over the whole lineart searching for white parts (which is equally time consuming) X__x Though, I do realize if I use thicker lines, this problem does not exist anymore, or is reduced greatly.

Yeah, you can't even pause it x'D I'm actually considering asking the artist herself hmmm

Yup, using the pixel tool would give it a much more rough, pixelated style. |D; I really like the way you make stuff feathery, though! I'm not sure if I said it before, but it's so awesome. ;A; I can never use the brush tool or any feathery brush for lineart without it looking strange. Like. Where do you get your talent.

And oh, I'm glad! ;u; I remember that join.me as well.
I'm really not sure how you'd go about coloring that thinner lineart, though. I've honestly never tried it. I can try and figure something out and then show you the method I used, maybe?

Yeah, I think the artist would probably respond. owo Or maybe watch some livestreams of people who draw with those thin lines, since they aren't sped up?

Asdfsdf I should ask where do you get your talent x'D Your pixel-edge style is amazing, so bold and daring and the colours just merge so perfectly without actually 'merging'! (am I making sense?) When I try that, it just looks... odd lol

Oh, between the time I wrote you the last comment, and this reply, I've experimented and found out some convenient tools that more or less helped solve my problem 8D I'm not sure if it works with Paint Tool Sai though, since I'm suspecting that these are options that might be Photoshop-only. And in all honesty, I feel a little stupid; these buttons have always been staring me right in the face; it's just that I'm too lazy to try them out to know what they do exactly. If you want, I can explain it to you in detail in a note
