Of course, no "Knight Rider" story would be complete without the darkest part of KITT… His evil prototype.

Meet the Knight Automated Roving Robot, or KARR, for short.

In my story, KARR was meant to be the Knight Industries crime fighting car, but he suffered from one very dangerous flaw. While KITT's main function is to protect human life, KARR was programmed mainly for self-preservation. This made KARR reckless and dangerous among humans, since they didn't actually matter to him. So, even though Wilton Knight didn't actually want to give up hope on KARR, he had no choice but to pull the plug on him, and order him stored in a Knight Industries lab, while work began on the car that would show much more improvement… KITT.

KARR was stored away in the lab for 6 months, after which a couple of burglars accidentally reactivated him, and he escaped from his "prison". Once fully aware of what was going on, KARR's mind was only occupied by one thought… Vengeance. You see, KARR did actually plead to Wilton Knight, when he deactivated him, not to do it… But Wilton did it, anyway. Reluctantly, but he had no choice, since KARR was dangerous. But because Wilton Knight deactivated him, with no sign of doubt, KARR considered himself betrayed by his creator, the man who brought him to this world… The man he viewed as a father… Wilton Knight. So, KARR's major drive in life now, is to have his revenge on Wilton Knight, and to destroy his replacement… KITT.
(I've made KARR a more frequent villain in my stories, in case you didn't notice. )

Just like my version of KITT, is my version of KARR here a Chevrolet Camaro. I decided to give KARR the yellow scanner bar, since it made it much easier to tell KITT and KARR apart, rather than having them share the same red scanner bar, as they did in the "Knight Rider" episode "Trust Doesn't Rust".
