Yes, everyone. I may be only 30 years old… But I was still young enough, when I was a child, to have grown up with "Knight Rider".

I think I saw KITT for the first time when I was about 4 years old. We didn't get any episode on tape. At least, not until 1999-2000, when the Swedish TV channel TV3 started to air the series in reruns. But, I never forgot the sight of when KITT went into Super Pursuit Mode. It was magical, especially for a little kid, like me.

Anyway, about 10 years ago, when the 2009 "Knight Rider" series started to air, I started to formulate my own version of the show. My own "Knight Rider" AU, you might say. But it wasn't until recently, that I think I finally got this AU to fully work. And since this is meant to be a complete reboot of the story, what better title for my story than "Knight Rider: Reboot"?!

In this story, Michael Arthur Long, was a fine police man, until he got shot by Tanya Walker, and left to die. Only, he didn't die. He was instead saved by the founder of the Knight Industries, Wilton Knight, who provided Michael with the best doctors that money can buy. Michael survived the shot to his head, because of a metal plate in his forehead, which deflected the bullet. Sadly, the bullet came out through his face, shredding his face, and making it impossible for the doctors to recreate it, as it actually looked. So, with a new face, Michael Long is offered a job at F.L.A.G. (The Foundation for Law And Government), which is also a part of the Knight Industries. Since he is officially dead, Wilton Knight grants Micheal Long the new identity of Michael Knight, son of Wilton Knight.

Michael Knight then gets introduced to Wilton Knight's greatest creation… The Knight Industries Two Thousand, or KITT, for short. A virtually indestructible super car, with a sentient artificial intelligence unit. Micheal and KITT are made into partners, and while they don't see eye-to-eye, at first, they do over time become an incredible crime fighting duo.

As you can see, my version of KITT here is a Chevrolet Camaro. The decision to make him a Camaro comes from the rumour about a movie being in production, where KITT would have been a Camaro. The idea just married me, you might say.
