Description
Name: Nell WulfeAge: 36
Height: 6'0”
Weight: 164 lbs.
Species: Human
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Brown
Occupation: Owner of book/music store and cafe
Abilities: Inhuman hand-eye coordination and reflexes.
Personality: Nonchalant and always the one to add a deadpan comment is how Nell treats life. Nell is the type of person you would least expect to be the kind and motherly type, but it is something she keeps just beneath the surface. She is extremely protective to those she cares for, especially her son, and is always willing to lend an ear or shoulder to cry on to help. No matter the situation, she always keeps herself cool and levelheaded no matter how bad it gets.
History: Nell is surprisingly secretive about her past prior to Locke and will either change the subject or refuse to answer. From what little she let's out is that her shady past was that she had no remorse and the job was all that mattered, as if she were running away from her past. What Nell will tell is that her life found meaning again from when she lost her own child when she adopted Locke.
When she was around the age of twenty-eight, she came upon upon the small town of Pinulton. It was an isolated and set in the middle of nowhere, and its inhabitants reflected their home. The population was widely ignorant and fearful of the outside world and the population lacked diversity of any kind. Unsettling was the best way to describe it, and she would have avoided it if not for her mission. Nell would have left town if not for a small boy with white hair at the Safe Anchorage Orphanage
For one reason or another, Nell instantly took to Locke the moment she saw him, and hearing how others treated him cemented him a place in her heart as she adopted him on the spot. Getting Locke to open up to her and control his power was a difficult and time consuming task, but she would have gladly done it for an eternity if needed. Slowly but surely, Locke began to open up to her and acknowledged her as his mother. Nell would never trade those moments for the world.
As much as it pained her, she decided to settle down in Pinulton for Locke's sake and bought a quaint little home on the outskirts of the town, and set up a bookshop soon after. Both were happy for a time until the fateful day when Locke was pushed too far by the bullies of his school. Things quickly spiraled out of control as the townspeople quickly formed a lynch mob out of fear and anger. She did all she could to protect Locke, but they were heavily outnumbered. What happened next is a mystery as Nell refuses to tell as to how the two escaped with their lives. What is known, is that the town of Pinultion and its people no longer exist.
Eventually, Nell and Locke traveled to Waypoint City, where the two would permanently settle down. Nell bought out a small apartment complex and converted the bottom floor into bookstore. Despite having a new start, the scars inflicted by the people of Pinulton remained with Locke. It tore Nell up inside to see that her son shut himself off from the world and she could do little about it. However, that all changed during Locke's first year of high school.
Things were relatively the same until Locke began to come home rather agitated, as difficult as it was to tell from behind his book. This was not lost onto to Nell as Locke was actually acknowledging someone other than her for the longest time. With keen interest, she spied on her son and later found out it was a blind girl by the name of Karoline that was actually having a profound affect on Locke. A feeling of hope began to well up beneath her nonchalant exterior despite Locke trying to avoid the girl. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worst as Locke caught a fatal illness that left him in a semi-comatose state.
The doctors diagnosed that Locke had Yutkra's Disease, an extremely rare and fatal disease with no known cure. It was possibly the most painful moment of Nell's life when she found out her son would die within a week. In her despair, Nell requested that she bring Locke home in order to look after him during his last moments life, to which the doctors consented on the condition that they be able to use his body for science in hopes of finding a cure for the disease. It was a painful thing to agree to, but it was at least a way to help future cases should they come down with the same disease and she took Locke home later that day.
For the next few days, Nell would feed and hydrate Locke during the brief moments of consciousness that he had. Crying and spending whatever time she had left with Locke comprised of most of her time with the exception of eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom. By the time Monday had come around, the one who had restored her hope for her son would continue to do so.
Karoline, who had come with less than noble intentions, arrived at the Wulfe residence to drop off Locke's homework, but more so to demand an apology from him. She quickly relented the moment she heard Nell crying. Nell let the girl in and told Karoline of Locke's condition and history, to which both females were in tears by the end. After several minutes of crying, Karoline asked with uncharacteristic softness if she could see Locke, to which Nell allowed.
Nell showed the way to Locke's room, where the boy lied on his deathbed, and waited outside the door to give the younger girl some privacy. It was moments later she heard a voice of beauty that words could not give them justice. The blind girl's voice was full of sorrow and brought out emotions that Nell thought she had long forgotten. For several minutes this continued until Karoline had reached the end of her song and allowed silence to settle in. From there, Karoline silently walked out of the room and thanked Nell before leaving. It did not escape Nell how Locke seemed to be at peace for once after contracting the disease.
The next day had surprised Nell as Karoline arrived at the same time as before to sing for Locke. From that point on, she returned every day at the same time of day and sang for Locke. With each progressive day, Locke's condition slowly improved to the point where he managed to stay awake long enough to weakly tell Karoline, “Thank you”. Despite how simple and irrelevant a simple 'thank you' was, it spoke volumes for Locke, showing he was willing to open up to Karoline.
Time went on as Locke's condition improved and slowly opened up to Karoline. Doctors were baffled by Locke's mysterious recovery, but from what Nell could tell, Karoline's voice seemed to have mysterious healing properties when she sang. And she continued to sing for Locke as the weeks rolled on and soon enough, the two of them became each others first friend. It wasn't long before Nell began to tease the two at their expense, even going far enough for Locke to pass out from embarrassment. Nell couldn't help but feel proud at seeing Locke go out into the world, making friends, and going on wild adventures.
But the past will always catch up at one point, and it appears that Nell's is beginning to catch up to her.

I finally got Nell's profile down after so long. After the insistence of the artist who drew this, I finally got off my rump and got her story down. There are some clues to her past that are rather vague, but more will be revealed once I actually get around to writing my story of Junction.
