Description Well, hello there Haytham hihi ^_^

Haytham is one of these drawings I started and almost... yes ALMOST finished ._. Now I have like wooohooo lots of them to finish, so now it's time to sit and draw

I know that most of my drawings were made with pencil, but this time I decided to use soft pastels for this, I hope you will like it

Any thoughts, opinions and suggestions are welcome! :3

I know that his suit is not that blue-ish like here but I thought "Why not?". Thought that maybe it would make the picture more alive

that is a nice drawing. Β personally I do like Haytham’s skin color. I just quickly run through my screen grabs and he is not really a white tone guy.Β

Thank you! ^_^
Indeed he is quite tanned in game.
I tried to capture his skin color, back then I was experimenting with soft pastels and this is my first work
And thank you for the fave!

of course I fav it. I see so many drawing of Haytham but too many lack of the main characteristics he has. You did very well on his cheekbones, eyes and lips what truly makes his face so recognizable.Β

That means I'm on a right track... I think at least... I hope haha xD
It's been a while since I drew something AC related, I should get to it hehe :3

It's really nice! I like it
But i'm not convinced about the skin colour... He seems like dead or sick with the cold tones you used. You should try to use a mix of carmine, ocher and white, and if you don't have ocher and carmine, you can use red and yellow (not the same result, but it's ok) the results are more natural
Anyway, it's really awesome , hope I've helped you!

Thank you for your opinion
I'm still learning about soft pastels and any advice is very useful for me ^_^
Also I'm glad that you liked it

Well, hmm, I tried my best to capture his skin since I had at the time only few colours, so I mixed brown with white and black. I was also looking at ingame screenshots and it appears that he had even darker skin tone sooo... That's the result

I think my mind just played a trick in myself. Seeing that Ezio and Altair are quite have a lighter skin, I though Kenway was had a lighter skin tone, as well.

Maybe it has to do with his ancestry? I'm not sure I'm just speculating
I think I've read somewhere that according to the book "Forsaken" he spent some time in Istanbul and Spain, perhaps that is the reason?

marcelmiranda In reply to Orander [2013-01-30 18:43:26 +0000 UTC]

Frosaken... isn't a game?

At least, I remember a game with this name tha I wanted to play a few years ago...

Anyway, what is this book about?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Orander In reply to marcelmiranda [2013-01-30 19:40:39 +0000 UTC]

Yes, thre is a game called Forsaken but I never played it
I did not read the book, but it describes with more details about Haytham's life before and during AC3. I thought about buying it but I'm not sure yet.

So, Forsaken is like the book of the Assassin's Creed for Ezio, right? Sounds interesting...

Orander In reply to marcelmiranda [2013-02-01 16:55:51 +0000 UTC]

Forsaken is for Haytham and Connor I think, I'm not sure I did not read it But if what others are saying is true, and it's just a game on a paper and contains everything what actual game has, then I prefer to play a game and pick up a good fantasy book Witcher for example. Witcher has two games already, but games are a continuation to the books. If you like a dark, fantasy atmosphere I reccomend it to you

Witcher? killer of Kings?

If it is I tried it already and the gameplay didn't please me, at all. I don prefer Borderland 2!

LOTS

The gameplay is hard I admit. That is why you had to use resources, such as potions, wards or different combat styles That's what I loved most about this game: challenge Hmm if you did nit like the game much, you could read the books, they are really, really good

Orander In reply to marcelmiranda [2013-02-02 21:44:23 +0000 UTC]

There is nothing weird about it I - for example - love magic. It might not exist and it might sound stupid, but I love such themes. That's why I love games for the most part, I like to feel being in a different world and relive amazing adventures ^_^

marcelmiranda In reply to Orander [2013-02-04 11:25:30 +0000 UTC]

But what kind of magic do you prefer? The Lord of Rings' magic? Harry Potter's magic? Dungeons and Dragons' magic?

Anyway, I think magic is just science that we don't understand... yet.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Orander In reply to marcelmiranda [2013-02-04 16:03:45 +0000 UTC]

I think the same way.
What kind of magic? Every kind of magic! It's just so fascinating. That may sound silly but I wish I would live among mystical creatures or some fantasy beings. It's kind of alluring...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

marcelmiranda In reply to Orander [2013-02-04 16:16:45 +0000 UTC]

ou are not alone about it... you are not alone, at all...

I fidn magic fascinating, as well, and I like to see it as something natural for us, but the same way people couldn't control electricy in the past ages and now we can, we are going to control it, as well.

Be honest, don't you think two people, one brazilian and other polish, in their respective countries talking throught cables where information such sound and video can be transfered... isn't magic?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Orander In reply to marcelmiranda [2013-02-04 16:33:37 +0000 UTC]

It is! ^_^
But in more scientific way. I would still love to see something truly... magical
In fact (I don't know if I mentioned it before) but somehow lately I got this feeling that progress, technology etc. is killing our souls. There was beauty in music before, nowadays songs doesn't have so much feeling and passion in it. People used to care more about themselves, feelings, health, now you have computers and many addicted people because of it. Even knowledge was a greatest treasure to them, now it's a heavy obligation.
I don't know if the same can be noticed where you live but I seem to notice it everyday. I also hope I did not offend you or anyone in here by saying these things

You are bloody right... but do you wanna know a opinion of one of the smartest old man I ever met? My grandad...

He was born in 1930's and television arrived here in Brazil in the 50's so he wasn't a little guy when it happened. He hated such 'crazy' invention the first time he saw it and he kept saying technology was a curse... and a gift, as well, for mankind. My grandad was always the balck sheep of the family and no one ever talked to him about these matters, considering a crazy excentric guy who likes to be alone.

Well, it was like that until 1997, when I was 5 and start to realize how awesome that old man was. I started talking to him trivialities like weather and how I was in school, and he saw in me something that he didn't see in a looooooooong time: someone to teach. He taught me lots of things, but about this matter he taught me:

"People are going to create technology withou bounderies, withou questioning what they are doing, without reminding about things that are really important to us and at the beginning of it, I thought it was a curse... but, with sadness in my chest, I realized that it is a normal pattern of mankind: They will create more technolody, we are going to distance ourselves from each other even more and more and when we are drowing in technology and our lungs are emprty of love, we will be MASTERS! GODS! TITANS!... but we'll be empty... untill the time comes to make someone thinks about how we are going to keep ourselves alive in a time where love is almos inexistence. This person will heal the world, or maybe he'll teach the person who will heal the world to make us togheter again."

What I learned from this old man? It's all about a bruising-healing process of mankind! We HAVE to distance ourselves from each other with our own creations to understand how it was important for us, then we'll be toghter again, but this time we'll have the technolody our ancestrals researched.

Then the circle begins again.

((I miss him so hard ))

Words of your grandad contains wisdom and truth. I totally agree with what he said and I have hope that we will not ruin ourselves...
This is definitely a subjcet I would touch in my fanfiction (if you allow me to use it), I already had plans for that.
You have my sympathy, dear friend
I'm actually jealous a little, I never had an opportunity to talk about such matter with my grandparents (you already know why). I promised myself that I'll never be like them to my family, ever

Actually, my family is not that amazing as it seems. Specially my uncles and aunties from my mom's family. They are just catholics fanatics or drunken lazyasses! and form me dad's family, I think I only like my granpa as you can see and my grandma because she's extremely lovely and can understand things of life (PS: She's what people call medium, although this is a delicated subject to talk about with her).

Use in you fan fiction? It would be so awesome!!! I'm truly flatered now, amiga!

I'm so rusty and dull in the matter, I'm almost ashamed. I think it's aleady one full month since I wrote something. Neither in portuguese or english and it's so annoying.

You are so right, dear... so right...

I think when the my vacation is over, seeing my friends and back to my studies will bring me some inspiration. Yesterday I tried to put something into the paper, but there was nothing but rubbish and draftings. I tried harder to look inside my mind to make something happen... but there's nothing but a freaking blank page there.

In college, I can see my friends, go to a bar, drink some beers... well, I think there's more good part than bad part in the going back to college thingy.

Forgive if I missed when you explained that to me, but... you are still in high school, right?

Yes, but this is a last year for me in high school. Next year I'm starting a new life ^_^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

marcelmiranda In reply to Orander [2013-02-11 17:42:42 +0000 UTC]

That's so ncie to hear! Starting a new life is always somethin good because you can mold this atual life into what you really want! Y'know that sensation: "I do what I want because I'm can!"

Until I was 19 my mom didn't let go to bar and nothing, but now that I'm in college! I can do whatever I want!

Oh, other thing: As a brazilian, I really envy european countries that do not have this philosophy of hard work, of being a peon in some factory, of working as mechanics, eletricians and machines operators! I think my country needs more artists! Do you to be imported and live here?

I'm not fond of alcohol so I have no problems with bars neither my parents have any lectures for me about that xD
I wonder how it's gonna be... It seems excting at first but then I feel a little bit sad inside because I would leave my family which I had a lot of time to get accustomed to.
Live in Brazil? I have never thought about that, perhaps one day I would visit your country and see how it is there

"Forsaken" is only the title of the book which describes part of Haytham and Connor's lifes. It contains almost everything that apears in AC3 but, actually there isn't a game called Forsaken, just like in "The Secret Crusade" which describes AltaΓ―r's life and actions ( Assassin's Creed I), and " Renaissance" (Assassin's Creed II) which is ambiented in Ezio's Early years. There are also "Brotherhood" and "Revelations" which, obviously, are named as the games do. ^^

Well I do know about that, they are just games in book versions.
I've only said what I've been told about it, but it never convinced me to buy them(books).
And there is a game called Forsaken, have a look here [link]
