Gotta get that reptilian tail from the newest event for Ramses. I have great plans stored for him.Also I'm quite proud of today's background. Turned out nicely for change.
(Oh yeah and also removed his fawn spots)

I looked up some refs for this piece and noticed that waters like these are rarely clear or blue (since there's so much other stuff that reflects other colors than the blue sky).
And well I just want to keep things realistic xD

That's why I always try to go for the solutions that are not the thing that comes first into mind.

Well... don't be afraid to use lots of refs. The more the better 
Have patience. These kind of works take time to do with all the details and colors.
And lastly think through the composition very well. Think where the light and dark areas should be and where you want people to look at when they see your work.
These are things that I think when starting with backgrounds ^^
