"In any war, there are calms between storms. There will be days when we lose faith; days when our allies turn against us... But the day will never come that we forsake this planet, and it's people."Welp, my hands are pretty much dead.
This is by far the most detailed picture I've ever done - at least several times over. Still, sticking all that detail into the line-art definitely made it easier. I learnt quite a lot doing this pic, as well as recieved a great deal of advice from ~Sin-Vraal - all of which will of course improve future art.
Oh, and to get the blasphemy out of the way - yes, Michael Bay's movies are my favourite version of Transformers. I grew up on Beast Wars, watched every episode of G1 around the same time, I even loosely followed the 'Unicron Trilogy' - but the movies remain my favourite interpretation of the franchise. Sue me
And yes, there'll be more Transformers art in future

I don't think I've ever seen a piece of work that's implimented so much detail in a non-organic aspect in my life. This is just brilliant and gorgeous!!!!

What is it you like about the movies so much? (genuine curiosity - I don't hate them, far from, although the coarser humor chafes some)

All sorts of things really. The design work, the battle choreography, the art direction, the shot composition, the music, etc.
Sure the humor is unneccesary at times, but given that it only makes up about 1% of the screentime, I think it gets blown way out of proportion.

I'm a little hyper sensitive to humor like that, but I suppose you're pretty correct. As a secondary thing, I much prefer bots to humans, so that grates on me when they spend time on Sam (maybe the next one will have even more robot screentime, other than their fights?)
The music, yes, I concur, I play the first movie's soundtrack all the time. My favorite tracks are Optimus, Autobots and Arrival to Earth. And even the first movie's animation still looks stunning... My one gripe with visuals is that at times I have had a hard time telling the different secondary/background bots and cons apart.

The humans are a neccessary evil with live-action movies, unfortunately. With animated shows, it's just as easy to put the robots on screen as it is the humans. With a live-action film, every single second the robots are on screen is burning money.
Yes, they could do an entire movie with just the robots - and it'd be 45 minutes long, at the most - unless the budget was massive.
Besides, the human characters are more relatable from the perspective of the general audience. A lot of Transformers fans seem to forget that the bulk of the movies' revenue comes from the masses - not the die-hard fans. If the films don't make money, they won't make more - simple as that.

It's true, it's true. I'm on board with entertaining the masses if it means getting more - I'm glad to see more. It's not that I don't realize all of this, but it's still a wish - y'know? And that's where the fans who've thought it through and still express those views are coming from, more or less.
Anyways, thank you for presenting this beautiful picture of Optimus Prime! I have the urge to watch the third movie now, to see his epic sword and shield fighting.

This looks absolutely gorgeous. I absolutely love all the details you put into this, from all of the mechanical parts that make up Optimus to all the nicks and scratches in his armor. Love the shading, especially the gradual shift from warm to cool colors. Love the little explosion in the front; it wouldn't be the movieverse without the explosions. 
The movies are my favorite version of Transformers too, so it's great to see I'm not alone since everyone else praises the other series more.

Man, I'm not big on Transformers, but that is super-duper detailed. Damn, you're improving in your artwork in leaps and bounds! Amazing artwork, as always, and all those details... phew! I'm not sure which I like more, the sheer amount of details or the way you coloured this. Nevertheless, a masterpiece! *claps*
