Hi there
I did two interior greyscale illustrations for the book World of Warcraft RPG: More Magic and Mayhem.
I did them a while ago but now that the book is beeing released I am allowed to show them.

So nachdem ich letzte Woche ja Zeit gefunden hatte dein erstes Meisterwerk für Blizzard zu kommentieren kommt nun das Zweite an die Reihe ^^
ZUr Farbwahl sag ich mal nichts, da ich ja schon letztesmal erwähnte, das es die ultimative Farbkombienation ist für Illustrationen (ganz besonders für Blizzard Illustrationen) in irgendwelchen Büchern.
Ich muss auch sagen, dass das Licht wirklich sehr gut gelungen ist und auch von den Kleinigkeiten, die ich in deinen Bildern ja so liebe gibt es hier eindeutig mehr. Also eigentlich alles Anzeichen dafür, dass es mir besser gefallen müsste. Ich selbst habe lange überlegt und weiß nun auch warum.
Als liegt am Gnom. Nicht weil er nicht gut gezeichnet ist, nein im gegenteil, wenn man nur davon ausgeht, dann ist er und vorallem wieder seine Kleidung einfach nur genial. Es liegt daran wie er gezeichnet ist. Ich hoffe du nimmst es mir nicht übel, aber ich musste sagen, das ich den Stil deiner Gnome nicht mag, einfach weil ich nicht wollte das ich irgendwann mal schlecht über etwas spreche und es eigentlich nur am Gnom liegt ^^
Also nimm es bitte nicht übel. Gerade bei solchen sachen, wie Leute/Menschen(hier nun Gnome) auszusehen haben hat jeder einen anderen geschmack und deiner Trifft bei den Gnomen meinen nicht.
Alles mal zur erklärung, warum ich das andere einfach besser finde und nun wieder zum Bild ^^
Wie schon erwähnt tritt bei mir hier wieder der Effekt auf, das ich nicht weggucken kann, weil ich immer wieder etwas neues entdecke, einfach nur schön. Es gibt aber 1-2 Dinge die ich doch hervorheben möchte, da sie mir gleich ins Auge gestochen sind.
Zum einen ist es die dampfbetriebene Uhr und zum anderen das Zahnrad aus der die Schlange guckt. Wenn die Uhr mit Dampf betrieben wird, find ich die Idee einfach sehr genial undzwar von beiden. Einmal von dir, das du darauf gekommen bist und vom Gnom, der soetwas "erfunden" hat ^^
Was mich aber immernoch Grübeln lässt ist die Schlange... was soll es bitte darstellen. Es sieht gut aus vorallem die Schlange (ich hoffe es ist eine ^^) aber irgendwie bin ich noch nicht ganz dahinter gestiegen was es darstellen soll ^^

Die Farben hab ich hier für DA genommen weil mirdas grau zu fad ausgesehn hat. im Buch selber sind sie nur graustufen. Leider hab ich das Buch selbst noch nicht zu gesicht bekommen. Naja der Versand von den USA nach europa nimmt manchmal seltsame wege
Ich hab kein Problem damit wenn dir die gnome vom Stil her nicht so zusagen
Ja die Uhr wird mit Dampf betrieben
Aber es ist keine Schlange sondern ein Black (oder Black) Whelpling. Ein seltenes Pet das es im Spiel gibt. Der ist sozusagen der Brenner zum erwärmen der Potions, wenn das zum brauen nötig ist. Und auf das Zahnrad wird das Gefäß draufgelegt.
Der Käfig links ist sein Zuhause, damit er wärend man mal weg ist und ihn nicht braucht nicht das gesamte Labor abfackelt

Ach das ist der kleine schwarze Drache ^^
Die Idee ihn als Bunsenbrenner zu benutzen ist ja fast noch geiler als die dampfbetriebene Uhr ^^
Er ist übrigens für meine NE das PET, welches an zweiter Stelle meiner Liste steht ^^

I bet the fella's too consumed in his experiments he prolly forgets to clean up...
I'd imagine the cartoony scene of his experiments blowing up in his face would be real funny.

he's a bit of a messy person and didn't clean up yet
the fish is an ingredient for his potion but maybe he likes raw fish as well
hehehe well I guess explosions sometimes happen there that's why hes wearing the goggles i guess

The little dragon is the burner to heat the potions if needed
If hes not needed hes goint into this cage to the left. He would cause to much trouble if he could fly there free in the lab

TExcellent. I enjoy how it is detailed but not over detailed, leaving the painted feel to the entire image. I admire it when someone can create natural greyscale ^^

It's been a bit different than with working with colors because you are more limited to create contrast but it's been fun somehow
