yes, because natural causes like disease played no part in it. I'm sure none of those deaths were caused by diseases that the natives had never encountered and thus had no immunity to.
Then again not all those natives were innocent angels. bet plenty of them were fucked up shits, just like people alive today... but with more human sacrifice and cannibalism.
