Description
The first carrier in Earth's star fleet, The USS Kitty Hawk carries 24 short range fighter craft in two docking bays (underneath).
In addition to close range self-defense systems, she is equipped with two fairly powerful electromagnetic rail guns.

The rail guns give the Kitty Hawk the ability to engage heavy targets at distance.

During peace time the ship is kept busy destroying derelict satellites and other types of "spacejunk".

However this seemingly mundane tasks serves another purpose. All that target practice keep everyone's combat skills honed.

This vessel was designed for a contest on Spore run the TheShipBuilder.
