"Come out and face me, Scarlet," Amber shouted. "Or are you a coward."
Scarlet gritted her teeth together as she stood up, unsheathing her machete.
"James, I promised I would get Jena out," Scarlet said. "And I live by the promise."
"What are you--," James exclaimed, but was cut off as Scarlet removed the earpiece from her ear.
"James will lead you home," Scarlet said, handing the earpiece to Jena.
"I can't leave you," Jena protested. "You're hurt."
"You can and you will," Scarlet commanded. "Now go. Amber's right, we have to settle this. It's the only way she'll stop."
"I can't," Jena protested.
"I won't say it again," Scarlet said, bringing her machete up.
"But what if you don't come back?" Jena whimpered. "I would never beable to forgive myself."
Scarlet sighed as she gave the machete a spin.
"I can't guarantee I will survive this," Scarlet admitted. "but if I do, I will accept you as my sister."
