Description
For the C.O.W (creature of the week) on conceptart.The task was to draw a creature for the famous wizard Merlin.
Name: Scath
Information for the creature: This little creature is especially useful for studies late at night. It can glow much brighter than a normal candle, if it’s needed (which is a big reduction of the danger of burning valuable books and notices, because of an accident with a candle). Beside this prized little ability, it is also very intelligent and can help its master to work out plans. The wings are far too small to fly around, but they can also turn into bright glowing parts- it can fly nonetheless, but it would need the help of magic.

Ah- I surely won't win this competition- there many, many veeeery good artists that always enter this... I did it mostly for the help I can get there maybe (you can upload your wips there) and for getting better in non-dragonish things.

I took a look, some of the creatures are really nifty, yours looks great with them! yours stands out quite a bit with the unique style and vibrant colors! and having something that stands out will help!

The next theme is really interesting, btw- It's about Giedi Prime the planet of the Harkonnens (from the book Dune).. The task is to draw a creature was survived on this planet and how the Harkonnens would eat that.
There is even a CHOW (character of the week) there for those who want to stick more with humans and so- I think that would be more something for you!

Uhh.. It's difficult to explain, really- but since you aren't the only one that asked me about the coloring (and the glowing effect is also a part of my new coloring technique), I will upload a coloring tutorial soon. I really hope this will make the whole thing a little bit clearer for everyone

Na, nur weil es klein ist muss es nicht ungefährlich sein.
Und wenn Merlin dieses Wesen schon in seinen Hallen hat, dann wird es sicher nicht so ungefährlich sein.
