I have to agree with Crazy Person 1 on recommending Elementary. While it follows standard american detective logic, the characters and relationships are so much more fleshed out, relatable and fascinating to watch than certain other programs *cough*

Well, that's two for Elementary, I suppose I have to now. Really, I've been putting it off because I know nothing can live up the BBC's Sherlock, but I can always do with more Holmes in my life. Lately, I've been watching through Community and Hannibal, but I can always add like a dozen more shows to my life. They're great for multitasking while drawing.

(Crazy person. ) Dylan Moran is the best - have you seen Black Books? It's a TV show he stars in, and it's the funniest I've ever seen. If you like Moran and books, Black Books is great. (They only have two or three seasons of six episodes each, I think, but they're all great. The first season is the best.)

Also, I have no idea if you'll like it, but everyone ought to watch Elementary (CBS), the TV show. It's a Sherlock Holmes spin-off with new angles and it is brilliant.

I've had Black Books on my Netflix queue for ages and just haven't gotten around to it yet. And that one has Bill Bailey, too, doesn't it? They're both great. I avoided Elementary for a while because of my loyalty to BBC's Sherlock, but I'm definitely going to have to watch it, because I'm a bit Holmes obsessed in general.

It does! Bill Bailey is so awesome. And trust me, Black Books is screamingly funny. And as for Elementary - it's great for the fans of ACD's Sherlock Holmes, I think, because it builds on the addict aspect, as well as having some excellent hints and whatnot, but differently from BBC's Sherlock, so you can enjoy both. I didn't think I'd like it that much when I started, but it is really great. (To be honest, the thing I like most about Elementary is that the cast is incredibly diverse and realistic and there's no homophobic, misogynist anything going on there.) Just pure murder mystery and Holmes fun.
