Comments: The underlying garments are a green crossover top and big shorts, sewn from scratch using green satin turned inside out (really really comfy to wear). The tunic is sewn from medium-heavy drill, I made a pattern first before using the real material. There is a split down the back which is true to the cartoon. There is elastic in the waist to help keep its shape. There are press studs all along the edge of the fold; the button you can see is just sewn on XD.
The belt is sewn from leather patterned vinyl, with eyelets on each edge, and press stud buttons all along. The gauntlets are also sewn from pleather with eyelets and matching silver studs, with vinyl ties. The foot cuffs are also vinyl with press studs. The material for the wrists and ankles is cut from the same green satin as the pants and top. And they have press studs too. The gold is the same as the headband... and it has press studs. I like press studs...
The hair is made from two wigs. I made a “plushie” shaped like a bun from felt and stuffed with pillow stuffing. It was then wrapped in one wig and hot glued/stitched down. This plushie-wig was stitched to a second wig which was cut short at the back and long at the front. The headband is two pieces of plastic mesh wrapped in fabric and stitched down to a real headband. The flumps were fake fur sewn into hemispheres and sewn down to the headband. (Followers of my usual DA will see I use this method to make plushies!)
My eyes are not photoshopped - I am wearing "white out" contacts which cover the pupil as well. They are actually a mesh and I could see out of them, although it felt a lot like being in a smoky room depending on the lighting (in medium light it was fine, it bright light or dim light it was much more noticeable). Add in the big fringe and my "blind girl" act wasn't always an act...
Now I DID make the battle armour - the shrug and helmet (with thanks to ubercaledor), which has escaped most photos because I wanted to show off the collar and crosover top. Hopefully later on I'll get some photos with them on.
