I decided to give #Sketchtember a try this year. I don't want to flood my gallery with each sketch posted separately, so I'm collecting them all in compilation pictures with either 6 or 8 sketches each (because 7 is an awkward number to divide). Some may hopefully be seen again later as more finished versions uploaded separately.My intention has been to come up with some new subject each day, we'll see how far we get before I start repeating myself. Descriptions of sketches so far in chronological order:
Day 1: Cenozoic filter-feeding aristonectine plesiosaur eating krill
Day 2: Chasmosaurine cranial keratin extent speculation.
Day 3: Realistic Slowpoke (a semi-aquatic sloth)
Day 4: Magestone yppotryll a.k.a. grohl a.k.a. orc horse
Day 5: Hairy kitterpillar
Day 6: Pokemon fusion at its worst (Miltank + Gastly)
Day 7: Nyctosaurus portrait
Day 8: An old alien design from my gradeschool days

Thanks! I could always upload it in scraps if I can't find the time to clean it up otherwise, but it is a design I intend to revisit in some way for sure.

The cat-terpillar looks hilarious and creepy at the same time.

It's funny, isn't it. A kitten is cute and three or four kittens together is even cuter. But a kitten with the kitten parts of three or four kittens sort of stops being cute at some point. It's funny how the brain works these things out.

I suppose there's also different brains working things out differently, because I would absolutely cuddle that kitterpillar.

Some people are horrified by it, some people find it totally cute and cuddly, and some people like me feel conflicted (and I didn't expect it while coming up with the idea).
