First attempt at wings!! ahhhh! they are quite the struggle!

what can I say?? ; A ; well lets start with the fact that i've been working on and off of this for four bothersome months. I can't explain why it took me so long (wings cough wings)... things weren't fitting together, and I couldn't stop adjusting/adding things. You honestly wouldn't think that a multiple horses could go in so many places. you also probably wouldn't believe that i've been known to redo a single hair up to 20 times because it doesn't fit to me... However, once I got out of my terrible slump, things started rolling along!! finally!!
to sum up, i'm quite proud of this piece, I feel I've improved at a lot of things! 
I very much hope you enjoy your commission Brooke, please let me know if you'd like anything changed!! (didn't know what you wanted to do with the wing colors yet, as I sent you a note a while ago. ♥ ) couldn't wait to upload!!

I take much pride in my work, and strive to do the best I can. So, I've decided to work on things you've mentioned c': please let me know what you think after i've fixed the following things <3
the birds; makes total sense thank you. I've also edited the motion blur so the bird flying above the horses head goes vertically, and not horizontally as he is hoovering. In additon, i've added a small bird in the upper right corner for more perspective.
also, the markings, i used the select tool and lowered the brightness on the actual horse. there is no layer aha. someone notified me that the outlines are a little too bright, although the customer wanted them like that. however, as you stated, i think you're correct. therefore, i've lowered the brightness of the outlines. please let me know if this helps!! I can't lower the actual spots, because it's the whole horse, but if still needed i can go in and detail. i think the lower of the outlines helped though a ton! :')
the sand; ah yes i totally understand!! makes a lot of sense. i suppose i was going off the original stock image, but maybe the pen was more dusty?? grounding is rather challenging for me, but yes, the dust should be lowered thank you c:
also.. i forgot some shadows under the seagulls! i'm adding those too.. oops!!
i've also added andother shadow where the wing folds over, and a darker shadow under the horse.

You're very welcome! I find that sometimes it's much easier to find mistakes after taking a long break from a piece, or just shoving the URL across Skype to friends and squawking, "What looks wrong??" I very much enjoy the work you did with the seagulls, and the added shadow in the crook of the wing really does help! Overall, I think the improvements are fantastic and have been greatly beneficial to the piece <3
