Description
The big pic that is obviously made up of many tinier pic, most of which I uploaded also as stand alones...A big crest with symbols of the elements... arcane enough for ya?
Well, still a newbie in vector crafts, but all in all satisfied with this.
The whole thing took me around two hours. Made on Inkscape and "decorated" in GIMP
FONTS USED ARE NOT OWNED BY ME (but are freeware and can be used for non-lucrative stuff)

If you look at a map of the elemental plains from D&D then you will notice that in between the plain of fire and the plain of earth you have the massive ocean of lava and on that ocean is the famous city of brass. The home of the Djinn and the location of some of the most powerful artifacts. The color of the circle corresponds to the color of brass. Also, just as life is created using earth and water, as are gems and metals forged using fire and earth. The lines on that circle also make me think of faceted gems or constructed items as opposed to naturally occurring. So this circle represents the minerals extracted from earth. Whether it is used for crafting the objects into items or enchanting them or even animating them, this circle of magic is used primarily by craftsmen.

I know the element between water and earth is vegetation, nature, life or whatever it might be. And... the element between fire and earth... wouldn't that be lava? I'm just wondering. Because, you know, when you melt a rock (earth) with intense heat (fire) it turns into lava.

Yeah, it's meant to be lava/magma/eruption... in any case, pretty destructive stuff. ^^

That makes total sense because...what else would be the opposite of Ice? Lava, of course! Just like water is the opposite of fire. Some people make metal out of earth and fire which makes no sense cause metal is not the opposite of ice. This elemental wheel is totally complete for me.

I would very much like to know what motivated you to make this runic circle because it reminds me of the eight part cycle of elements and cycle of life itself. Very interesting and quite useful in studying where your origination of the array belongs.

Hmm... well, I wouldn't know much about what "motivated" me to do it. XD;
At the time I just discovered a tutorial that helped me find out how to properly make "magic circles" in a digital fashion and I went ahead in concretizing a project that would unite my love for geometrical arrays and the classical elements.
As for inspiration, it actually started out as just the eight single crests for the "base" elements and their combinations (even if I did leave out the combination of the opposites, in the end)... but then it felt that it was missing a very BIG something... that something being a single picture that put all of them together, and a "uniting" element in the middle of it all.
I hope it does answer your question. ^^

Really cool stuff did you make up these symbols yourself?

Glad you like them ^^

The eight part would be Explosion (the one in the lower right)... but I didn't post it 'cause in full view it becomes very clear that it isn't exactly centered and stuff... so...
And thanks for the comment.
