Description
I don't know if this is a male or female, if they take turns, or what.My mother insisted on me going by her house, because this little guy made a nest right on top of her Catholic Virgin Mary figure altar. It has a sort of arch with ivy on it, and right at the top, he/her/they built this nest, using string, and other stuff including lichen as final decoration.
It was a rainy afternoon, so he/she just sat there, out of the rain.
If I didn't know better, I would say he/she's either a dead/stuffed bird. It only moved to shiver a little from the sound of the rain.

My guess would be that it's a female, but I could be wrong. In the area I live, I only see Ruby Throated Hummingbirds, so the male is easily identified because of that trait.
Anyway, I love this shot! Especially how I can see her little head feathers so clearly!
And I can't help but laugh at how she's really tucked down in the nest! That's a super fun image. All too often you see picture of these little guys in flight.
Nice work!

Thank you for your comments
Sadly the couple stoped showing up after about a day or two. No hatchling, no egg... we think a cat got to them.

No problem. ^__^
Awww, that's too bad. Shots of baby hummingbirds would have been awesome!
