I've been following this for a couple of months now, and I really enjoy where this has gone so far.
And I got to thinking last night - the only market this story would have had 20 years ago would have been one of Ellison's "Dangerous Visions" books.

Some of this stuff was so hushed up 20 years ago that the sufferers of some of these unusual conditions didn't know about it themselves. Their Doctors lied to them.

Wow... Hadn't even considered that. I haven't been smacked in the face with any issues like that anytime recently. When unusual circumstances pop up I'll be as surprised by them as anyone else but it tends to shock me more when people get malicious about something for no reason.
Back to the story though... I wonder if they'll think to tell Mom that Toni knows or if she'll keep tap-dancing around the truth when he's there.
