As mentioned on an earlier page, she uses them for balance. She's still learning to walk again. She can manage without them, but the risk of falling flat on her face is pretty high.

Oh, so the problem isn't in her legs being weak, it's just balance problems. I see now lol, I was thinking that a complication in the surgery preventede her to have full use of her legs or something.

The balance issue is a result of her not being able to put her legs exactly where she wants them. Her brain is still adapting to them. After all she didn't even have any legs for years. It is taking an unusually long time though, but she is improving.

I get that every time I have a good laugh or a good cough. The preasure contricts the blood flow to the brain. Every so often I have to take a controlled fall to the floor to avoid toppling over.

Doc wasn't going to let me fall. She was concerned when I grabbed her for balance while sitting down. Shen then had me lay back down for about 30 minutes.

You'll just have to wait and see!
However, if life gets any worse for Sonya - just three days from her "reintegration" with society, I can see she would think living in a cave in the mountains might be a good thing.
