Description I seem to have gotten into an unfortunate habit of uploading more to tumblr than deviantArt! Oops!

Here's the first thing I drew after films were done: ridiculous shiptease for a ship that shouldn't exist! Or I guess you could view it as my interpretation of Jekyll's early relationship with Hyde: rather than being frightened and intimidated by his darker self, Jekyll saw Hyde as an escape from his life during his gloomier moments, an intoxicating alter-ego he could vanish into whenever his own life was too overwhelming. Not until too late does he realize that he's let Hyde have far more control of his life than he wants!

....or it's just silly ship-tease.

The concept for this is really interesting in my opinion. I like the backstory you give to it too, how sometimes Jekyll just wants to vanish and let Hyde take over for a while.

Or, you know, ship-tease is always a fun excuse too! XD

Either way, great drawing! Keep up the amazing work!

The idea of Jekyll relying on Hyde for an escape is actually canon! Most adaptations get rid of it because it kinda incriminates Jekyll (for a lot of the story, he's basically allowing Hyde to screw things up) but I would love to be able to be able to handle it properly.

Yes I vaguely remember that being part of the original story. I really need to re-read it!
Yeah, that's the thing about adaptations, they need to show one has being an ultimate bad and the other an almost ultimate good, which wasn't really the case at all. At least from what I remember.

Knowing you, and your mad awesome skills with both the Jekyll and Hyde story and the Frankenstein story, I am sure that you would be able too!

Speaking of Frankenstein, I am curious to know if you have ever heard of the novel called "A Monster's Notes" by Laurie Sheck? It is a fascinating read, the Creature is the narrator and it's written as if he actually existed and sort of lives this immortal life wandering across the earth and observing things and writing things down. If you haven't read it before I recommend it! Sadly it doesn't focus all that much on Victor though, it's all about The Creature.

...End of totally random ramble now. I'm sorry! ^_^;

Hmm, I have not heard of that one!! It seems there are quite a few Frankenstein-based stories I haven't read yet D: I will check it out!

It's really good!

Yeah same here, and I have gotten a new-found love for the story so I want to try to read as many adaptations as I can, just for curiosities sake!
