the materials are looking really nice . i've never been able to make a convincing gold ... the materials (in this work) all look slick - i think the gray would be better with a bit of roughness . what's the blue dot ? the far right ring (with the holes in it) should be separate from the main body because it rotates

the angle is bad. the whole are different sizes and it's away from the main body but no by much. the blue dot thing is a cylinder that holds that to the main body so it does not fall off.
thanks very much for the comments! I'm trying to work on my texturing by making little stuff like this. i still have no idea how to make material in Modo these are all defaults. I'm going to start looking for a tutorial today. I've never been good with colors which is why i've been avoiding doing any texturing
