Description Sometimes it's nice to be squeezed up a little!

That red hair girl again. Karine, it's her name. Not very important, but I'm tired of calling her "that red hair girl", and that name is the only one I can think of..

I'm thinking of doing comic strips with her...

Karine's got potential, she should lay off the exercise and careful eating a bit.

I would be interested in drawing
her.

Yet another excellent picture, sir! I am quite pleased to hear you may be doing a comic strip. I look forward to seeing it sometime in the future, as your time allows.

Thanks for posting!

I LOVE IT! the contrast is felt, and the immense (loveliness) is felt.

The expressions here really communicate a great sense of tension while keeping appearances pleasant and polite-

but I love the composition, you really know how to work with every aspect and the space is used up
(by the aforementioned loveliness...)

I like this Karine mademoisselle too
she's got some personality beaming out her like crazy!

oupelay In reply to VigilCat [2009-01-28 12:32:24 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Since this drawing is all about the tension between the two girls/the lack of space, I'm glad how it came out. For Karine it was easy, but for the other girl, it had to be more subtile...

Awww, Karine's so havin' hard time with the softness nearby... and that source of softness ain' too oblivious at all XD

Great pic. I especially love the woman on the left's hips, although Karine is quite the looker, too. Comic strips would be the bee's knees (Lol, sorry I couldn't resist )

oupelay In reply to Dr-Spy [2009-01-22 05:20:40 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Doc! On my side, I cannot which one I prefer: both are equally attractive to me. As for the comic strips, I don't know if they are going tobe the "bee's knees" (bees are cool, really they are! You know that bees are the only animals, appart from humans, capable of using a symbolic language?) I just hope they are going to be good...

I did a first sketch a while ago, but wasn't satisfied at all of the result. You can see it in the link bellow, but this will not be the final version. What I have in mind is more in the classical pinup style...

Actually, do you have the uncolored line art for this piece?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

oupelay In reply to Zenidiot-Creations [2009-01-21 23:43:15 +0000 UTC]

Yes I do. Are you interested in it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zenidiot-Creations In reply to oupelay [2009-01-22 00:06:39 +0000 UTC]

Kinda yes, kinda no. Reason I ask really, is the fact that while the line art is really nice, it also looks kinda sketch. Rather than the image looking like a colored, finished piece, it looks like finished colors over unfinished line art. Have you considered a vector program to trace your line art before coloring?

I know it could be interesting to improve my work. Right now my "equipment" is pretty basic: pencils, paper, scanner and photoshop 5.5. I don't even have a graphic board. One day, I should go over my lazyness, and look for better techniques/hardware/software... Thanks for the advise!

Look into inkscape, it's free! And I actually practiced with the colored version of "The Elevator" in it, and it didn't turn out bad. Kinda weird, but I think it might have been because it had color.
