Description
"Don't like the separation of church and state? Then move to Saudi Arabia and quit complaining!"The separation of church and state is there for a very good reason. Why? Because there are tonnes of faiths out there, making it law to only follow one would be a violation of loads of peoples human rights.
But if you really don't like that fact, you could always move to Saudi Arabia. If you're a religious fanatic and believe religion should be imposed in law, you'd love it there!

As a Christian, I don't mind the separation of church and state, just as long no one tries to prevent me from following my religion.

With 'church' she meant 'clerge', that is generic.

If you want to include religion in general yoiu should talk aboutΒ clergy, because Church is referred to Christianity only.
I agree on what you meant with this, anyway.

I'm a proud liberal, and I DO support state atheism. My reason for doing so is simple: the First Amendment requires that if the government acknowledges one religion, then it must acknowledge them all. Now consider just how many different religions(and how many different sects of different religions)exist. Obviously, it's a whole lot easier to simply acknowledge no religion at all than to have to acknowledge hundreds of different religions.Β Β

First off: I don't believe in God, so I don't give flack what he thinks about my actions, and I take full responsibility for my own soul.
Second: If you wish to call me and my comment stupid, please provide at least one legitimate reason for doing so. You and I are both entitled to hold opinions, but with that right comes the responsibility to explain our opinions to others, as I believe I did.

I said nothing about abolishing religion:if you want to buy land and build a church/temple/mosque/synagogue on it-fine, it's your land. What I'm advocating is no official government endorsement of religion-as stated in the First Amendment.

I never said anything about punishing people for their beliefs. what I am arguing for is the exclusion of religious beliefs from the law, so that no one is forced to abide by someone else's scripture.

Just because the law doesn't harm those who aren't christian doesn't mean that said laws weren't based off of libertarian christian values.Β Have you ever heard of the Mainspring of Human Progress?

And no, freedom of conscience is part of religious freedom.Β You cannot trample on that and expect religious freedom to still exist.Β Everyone has the freedom of conscience, whether you be muslim, christian, atheist, voter, or government official.Β If you cannot understand that, than please, for our sake, never go anywhere near a voting booth.

And if you cannot argue a pint without insults in place of logic, I respectfully advise you to find some remote region on Earth(I highly recommend Antarctica, the Amazon, or the Sahara) and never return to a human settlement. Those who cannot remain civilized have no part to play in civilization.
P.S
Since our debate just keeps going around in circles, I have decided to expend no further time or energy on it. I strongly recommend that you do the same, as I will no longer respond to any of your comments.

Some forget that separation of church and state does not mean that anyone has the right to prevent someone from praying when and where they wish. It is a two way street -- just because the majority of people wish to pray at say a football game and you do not does not mean that they have to avoid praying --- just means that you stand there doing nothing. The "state or school" is not forcing you to pray. When students, etc... are not allowed to pray they ARE being forced to do keep from praying.

I have not heard of schools in my country not allowing children to pray in school. The thing is, there's a huge difference from not being allowed to pray in school and actually basing laws that will affect everyone on religious rules.

Funniest part is that lately people have been coming up with the most hilarious reasons why religion is "oh-so-tr00-and-awesomeh!!!1111!" My personal favorite is the argument that the Bible is proof that god exists. If that's true, then Lord of the Rings is the proof that elves, dwarves and hobbits exist. Or comic books are the proof that if you're caught in a radioactive explosion you gain the ability to turn into a huge green rage monster instead of freakin' dying. I think you get the picture.

The Church of England really doesn't have a say in "traditional marriage" if you consider why there is a Church of England in the first place.

Well. Elsa, Erika, Perez, and Belle are good to go. Jasmine's nation now in deep shit because of those terrorist, while Katyusha you should blame VP and religious sect for limiting the speech; though you still not persecute for gay, just lots of thugs.
Even you can go ahead try Elisabeth. Though you have past life in Arendal
Note: sorry for butting in, but when I hear Norway, you remember Frozen (2013), right? I have a feeling you understand Erika and Katyusha if you search with Wikipedia. Perez should be obvious to you, and ask Disney about Belle
