Description
As part of the Alice in Wonderland project I'm working on (see Kickstarter page: www.kickstarter.com/projects/6… ), we had to decide what the "new" Alice would look like. Here are some of the preliminary sketches, all done with a Pentel brush pen. That pen is a wonderful, portable tool, but it definitely takes practice. It's great for making quick, expressive drawings. I was getting pretty good with it when I did these, but I've since gotten a bit rusty.Click to expand to full size!

Nice control of the brush. I use the Kuretake one from time to time and it's still impossible for me to be so consistent especially with thin lines.

It definitely takes a lot of practice. I'm in awe of the people who are REALLY good with it (Berni Wrightson for one)

Yeah...his illustrations for Frankenstein are wonderful. I splurged and bought that book a few years ago

Love the way your brush strokes just suggest the fabric, leaving the brain to fill in so much more.
