Description
Another great lesson from Andrew Loomis, on finding the unity and grace of continuous contour lines in the human body. In this drawing, see how there are long curving lines that go from the foot, around the calf, and then the thigh, and then continue up the hip to the torso. This flow gives the drawing some life and motion.Blue ballpoint and white gel pen on toned paper.

Have to say your drawings are beautiful. Nice flow in your anatomy studies. Check Proko's youtube channel too, his anatomy lessons are priceless! www.youtube.com/user/ProkoTV

Thanks. Yes, I've seen Proko's videos before; he's a great resource. I've also just picked up a book called Force. Its sub-title is "dynamic life drawing for animators", but it seems like it would be useful for anyone drawing figures. It really concentrates on dynamic drawings.

Great drawing.
The position of the hair works really good to that feeling of motion.

Thank you. In all of Loomis' drawings, the models have very curled, styled hair. I thought this needed something more free-flowing.

Stunning sense of movement and fluidity! It's fascinating to see the inter-connectivity that is apparent in the human body when it comes to rhythm and balance.

Thanks. Yeah this was sort of a new insight for me. I'm going to do some drawings to expand on this way of looking at things.
